I did like them talking about Beakman's World though. I remember him doing an old man voice for about 5 seconds maybe twice. I don't know what you're thinking of.

Grifter posted:I liked the Nye episode. It's true that he's one of those guests who doesn't really get the show, but he still works out okay. Bill is just too nice to really get into the rhythm of Loveline, but it was worth it to hear him interact with Drew. They're obviously both smart guys with a lot of intellectual curiosity. There were a couple points where Drew would be explaining something medical to a caller and Bill would stop him and ask for clarification on some terms - it was cool to hear a guy like that who would readily admit he didn't know everything but was always interested in learning more. He was way more responsive than 80 percent of all the guests. He laughed at Adam's jokes, talked with Drew and was generally into it. That Patton Oswalt show was fantastic by the way, I think he is the only comedian besides Chris Titus that could keep up with Adam and was really funny.

I didn't enjoy Gary Busey and Adam De La Pena either, mostly because Busey obviously hates Adam Carolla and the show just didn't go well. Busey doesn't hate Carolla. He is just is just a very insane man. I did hate that episode though, he is unbearable. Edit: Avoid the episode with the Black Eyed Peas. I wanted to reach into the loving radio and strangle that stupid oval office Fergie. Bolek fucked around with this message at 03:41 on Aug 30, 2007 |

I am listening to 2001-01-09 and Dr. Bruce's smug passive-aggressive, contrarian behavior is really getting to me. He disagrees with Adam on something he is clearly right on and then gets defensive when asked why because he really has no reason. I usually don't mind Bruce but he is really goddamn annoying here.

Kaso posted:The one thing thats slightly frustrating me about this thread is all the dates, as a british person im getting rather confused by the multitude of date formats being thrown around Well I don't know how other people do it but I list depending on what the recording is named, whether it is 08-04-02 (m-d-y) or 20001204 (ydm) or 2000-03-12 (y-m-d). If I dont have the recording in front of me I'll usually just do it in standard American style or just type out the month. The reason the recordings have different formats is because there is more than one person who did the recordings (talking about the torrent or the HUB) but yes, if it is available in the archive people should just give it that notation.

Otherwise he's just loving with the caller and annoying Drew with them. He's also a pretentious prick who hangs up on people for no good reason, even if it's getting interesting. He only hangs up on people if they cuss even after being told not to. Otherwise he lets the hosts do the dumping.

Omnicarus posted:Anderson's greatest night is undoubtedly the 12-16-2004 episode featuring Papa Roach, where Anderson is drunk and tripping, and they have a technical meltdown. Anderson finds out that his phone can only be heard by the broadcast and not by Adam or Drew and proceeds to freak out on the air. Then he tells Adam how he sells his Christmas present on Ebay every year. This is the same episode with the fudgepacking and Theo's christmas song, too. Probably the best episode ever. I believe it also has Drew mentioning how he bumped into Rabbi Shmuley in the beginning of the show when him and Adam are talking amongst themselves while still on the air. I don't know why it seemed so surreal and funny to me the first time I heard it, but there you go, another reason. "HOLY CHRIST NOONE CAN HEAR ME?!" Kaso posted:As much as adam bitches about this, i sware if he didnt point it out i'd never notice, though perhaps thats something to do with the lowish quality of the Archive recordings At first I didn't hear them because I used to listen to it at a much lower volume, but now I hear that "GONK" every time. Once you listen for it it really is amazing how much noise Drew makes, and that will make you gain a little appreciation on why it annoys Adam so much seeing how he has studio monitors on; so he REALLY hears it.

When the bandwidth is used up, the site is suspended to the next month. There is an unlimited bandwidth option, which I may switch to if the usage is that bad, but this isn't too pleasing a prospect. Wow, very cool! I suggest putting up some sort of limit of x episodes per day.

Number one has an 'angry' post-op transsexual on it who managed to piss both Adam and drew off. The other is one with a psychic who also managed to set Adam off. ll20010214 (Lysa Mateu - psychic) most likely(Not in archive) I can probably up it somewhere if someone can provide hosting or tell me where they would like me to send it. It's kind of weird and uncomfortable to listen to the former just because how hostile and angry that thing sounds like. By the way, not the same Dr Bruce just so were clear.

I have two questions I hope one of you can answer. There was a show when Adam and Drew were talking to this girl that had the radio in the background and Adam made the comment about how he sounded like Hitler at a Nazi rally. The other show I hope you guys can identify is with a female guest, 20-30 who's dad was in some service, maybe was in Vietnam. Drew and Adam then launched into a great improv on how he would set up his front yard with booby traps like the sharpened stick with the fecal matter on it and such. I have been wanting to hear this show forever and I cannot goddamn find it. I hope you guys know either one or both of these *fingers crossed*

I'd only be surprised if he was being secretive about it. Maybe it has something to do with his contract? He actually threatened not showing up twice. Once for the coffee, once for them to get a security guard. He might have threatened not to come in if they didn't change studios as well, but I was never clear about what happened with that. On the subject of his show , it would be a good way to let the powers that be see what the show would be like with Danny at the helm if they are trying to hardball him.

NeoHentaiMaster posted:Howard Stern drilled Adam about Danny when Adam was on his show. Stern tried to get Adam to admit he hated Danny but Adam said he didn't and went into great detail as to why he didn't. It did come off very genuine and not some publicist fed BS. I mean we all know how Adam despises that stuff anyway. The guy always calls his own dad a pussy and didn't hold back when Drew was his partner so if he had any problems with Danny you figure we would have heard at least one rant on it by now. That is precisely why I think he hates Danny. Everyone one he likes, Drew, Theresa, Kimmel, he busts their chops whenever they screw up. He also however has dinner with them, and calls them, and talks to them outside their work environment. Whenever Danny says something that interrupts Adam, or a complete non sequitur (read: all the time) Adam never says anything and just kind of silently moves on, like he would with a stupid comment a guest made. Plus he has made numerous comments about how annoying Danny is and how it was definitely not his idea that he come along. Put yourself in his shoes, do you want to call someone a loving lunatic rear end in a top hat on Sterns radio show and then have to work with the guy for 4 hours every day? Plus, how could you listen to the three previous shows and not concede that Bonaduce is a complete train wreck.
