The Fletcher incident occured before Adam was on the show. In 1999 Pennywise came on again and Adam explains that it occured 5 or 6 years beforehand, and then plays the old clip. http://lovelinecentral.com/mp3/1990...poo%20city).mp3 Sorry for the large file size, that's how I found it and I don't know how to make it smaller. caffeinefree posted:Adam Carolla didn't show up to his radio show today because he was sick, which doesn't sound like him. Regardless, if you want to hear how truly awful Bonaduce is I suggest you give today's podcast a listen Everyone needs to listen to this, it's the December 12th 12:00pm show. Adam is on with Drew for basically the entire hour and they talk about how much they hate the seventies. Also, not only is it strange enough for Adam to ever call in sick, he brushes it off and says he feels better when Drew asks him about it, even though it's only a few hours later.

A couple of times there were shows where Adam or Drew went a little crazy because they were big fans of the guest's music. The only ones I can think of however were when Cheap Trick (Adam was ecstatic) and Offspring (Drew seems to be a big fan) came in. Anyone know any others?

DAG was on the show many times, and was even referred to as the "Third Host" by fans. One of the bits he used to to was making throw up noises while Drew or Adam would talk about gross stuff. As to why he isn't allowed on the show anymore, I don't think anyone has any clue. My guess is it has something to do with the fact that he as the obvious replacement for Adam, but who knows.

There already is a Loveline wiki linked to on the very first post in this thread. http://wiki.lovelinefan.com/ ...problem is it looks like it was abandoned soon after its creation 3 years ago, and not anyone can edit it. It might save some time if someone got a hold of that guy and used it as groundwork though.

Here's a couple more drop origins I've noticed: 8/2/2000, around 1:18 - Bruce saying "I've had Anal sex and passed out a few times". A caller had this problem and Adam asked Bruce how she should tell her doctor about it. After Bruce says it Adam specifically tells Anderson to record it. 8/6/2000, around 20 minutes in - Occasionally used "I'm Kinda Chunkeh" drop origin. He jokes with her about it for a while.

It's definitely not Kari, I've been listening to the earliest episodes I've found in order, and it's a drop that predates recorded history. So is You're Fat, You're Gay, and anything else in the Drew Boogie/Drew Shuffle. I did hear another drop origin the other day, on 9/18/2000. It's Adam's high pitched "WHOO?" drop. He's doing an impression of someone's Mexican housekeeper, when asked for the homeowner over the phone. I'm also almost positive I heard the origin of Drew being a "Passionate Man", although I didn't make a note of the date. They came back from an off the air conversation, and didn't reveal much, except that they were talking about their own personal sex habits, and Adam was very surprised to hear Drew's, and proclaimed him to be a very passionate man. One I haven't heard at all that I really want to hear is the "World Is Your Oyster" drop, because I really wonder what the significance of it is.

Absolut Mike posted:I don't have a "top ten" list or anything, but this is really one of the best episodes of Loveline I can think of. It really is. The ironic part is that Drew and Adam rarely suggest abortion, but she looked like a moron thanks to her extreme abstinence and anti-birth control stance. Best part is when she says she's a virgin.

Bender posted:When it comes to guests, are there any guests worse than the drunken/high no-name bands who either don't contribute at all, or who make stupid jokes and giggle the entire show? I'd say over half the guests, drunk band or not, do very little to contribute, most likely from being uncomfortable about the subject matter. I think they understand that, and it just basically turns into a no guest show. Also I think Adam appreciates giggles, since he often talks about how he is looking at Drew's dead pan face while he's saying hilarious poo poo during no guest shows.

LetsDeauxThis posted:I am sure it has been said... a few times why different people hate stryker, but what is the main reason? I think the best reason is this - Adam was very funny. Even a huge Stryker fan wouldn't call him funny, as he doesn't attempt to be funny. He's just a regular guy. Which is why he's such a bad choice for the show, there's no incentive for someone to listen. I honestly never would have listened to Loveline more than once if I had tuned in and just heard a doctor babbling on about child abuse while some other generic friendly guy talked just to fill space. A funny, entertaining element to the show is crucial to educating people, otherwise kids aren't going to listen to it.

Put something on there from the show with Violent J from Insane Clown Posse, he's totally nuts. I'd suggest the call from "George" that starts around 31:55 who talks about jerking off. The call itself and their reactions are hilarious.

Program directors always seem to be completely clueless. I'm listening to 2001 from the beginning, and apparently over the winter break they told Adam to talk less and Anderson to completely stop doing drops. Not only have these been the most boring shows that I've heard, but callers keep begging Anderson to do drops. I just hit March and Anderson finally started doing his thing, so hopefully it gets better soon.

The shows, particularly the older ones, were all given to the community by people that just happened to have recorded it a long time ago. Since they aren't from some magical, central place, of course some of them aren't going to have commercials and songs edited out. I'm just glad that these pre-2002 shows even exist. If someone else wants to edit them out and send them back to the feed, or create a new, better torrent, then that's fantastic that you want to also contribute to the community. That being said, I do think the feed should spare everyone from having to listen to Stryker's voice. My favorite part of Stryker's appearances are the next day when there's always 3 or 4 callers that beg Adam to never leave again.

I really do think it takes a good year or two for a radio show to get really good. The first year of ACS was kind of weak, and I'd be willing to bet that the first year or so that Adam was on Loveline weren't as good as the later stuff too. Now he has complete freedom. Once it stops being about the show itself, I believe it'll come into its own. And yet I say all this but I still don't think it'll ever be as good as Loveline in its prime. I have high hopes, though!

Adam has definitely always leaned to the right, without any of the religious agenda. Same with Drew. Once Drew mentioned that when Bill Clinton was elected as president, he wrote down all the horrible things that would happen, and mailed it to himself so it would be postmarked as proof that he called it ahead of time. Haha "Jizz Guzzling". I love those rarer Drew drops.

Nice, I heard Drew talk about this appearance on a 2000/2001 show. He said they basically asked him a ton of questions for an hour or so and just picked out some stuff for the show.

Lame as Heck posted:To this day I credit Loveline with being the singular reason why ... don't have herpes Actually I've noticed that Adam and Drew take an almost selfish stance about STDs, and don't seem to care about their spread that much. I can recall countless times when a caller would call about birth control, Drew would tell them what kind of pill to take, and the guest would jump in and say you should always use condoms to avoid STDs. Drew and Adam would usually almost laugh off this advice, or just quickly agree with it. I totally understand their stance on this - their ultimate goal is avoiding unwanted pregnancy, and they're being realistic and realizing that people don't want to wear condoms.
