Oh yeah for sure. Literally The Worst was just saying he'd heard it somewhere before, so I thought maybe it was that version.

My lame claim to fame (to quote Weird Al) is that I'm one of the shadowy figures standing around the bonfire on the album cover. No idea which one I am though :(

Last night I went to a Ska-P concert in Valencia, Spain. I don't know Spanish well enough to understand all their lyrics but most songs got the point across, very political but I enjoyed them. They put on a really good and energetic show for a bunch of old guys ;). I don't know how popular they are outside of Spain/Latin America but there was a large crowd who really seemed to be enjoying themselves.

Fairly popular across Europe, I'd say. I rarely listen to them, but their live shows are pretty good. Very tight rhythm section compared to a lot of similar bands. Not understanding everything is probably a good thing, the political lyrics are about as shallow as possible.

Went to a wedding of 2 ska fans. Every wedding needs ska music and skanking and sing-a-longs on the dance floor, I've come to realize.

I love those guys, but sadly have never gotten to see them live. They played in NYC a couple of years ago, but I couldn't make it. The new album they put out last year was just okay, but the one before (the come back album, I guess) had some great stuff. Thanks to some European trips, I do have some physical CDs, at least.

Speaking of international bands playing the US, Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra is apparently playing some US shows. Like, tonight. 3 shows in California, and one in NYC (again on a date I can't make). http://concerts.eventful.com/tokyo-ska-paradise-orchestra

Also, The Stray Bullets just released a new album. I just started listening and it's pretty good.

YES! Album loving rules. Here's a link to the album if you want to stream it/buy it. Only $7! And did I mention it was awesome?

That is if skapunk is your thing.

Every song I've heard off this album sounds like a carbon copy of a song of Life Won't Wait or earlier (case in point this song seems very similar to parts of Bloodclot).

... I'm not sure if I consider that a good or bad thing.

I agree, I really do like it (especially after the last stinker), but every song I hear I almost immediately recognize elements from older songs.

I have to risk the box office, but I used to work there so even if I get stadium seats I'll probably end up on the floor. I just hope it doesn't sell out :ohdear:

They said during their last Boston show "except for the northeast", so here they are.

I'm also stuck on the mezzanine, I'll hopefully find my way to the floor by the time they come on.

Yep, and it was great. It was a pretty late show, though. Dan P went on around 9 and the show ended around midnight. Dude from the Bennies also ripped down a bunch of the ceiling during Jeff's set. Might as well get started on the demo early.

Drove all the way from Texas to see streetlight one more time in New Jersey! Sucks that they're not touring the entire country anymore but the drive was totally worth it, everywhere other than Texas is so darn pretty in the fall.

Driving here is scary as gently caress though, I don't know how you people do it.
