Any Latterman junkies around? I just got their DVD a couple days ago and it just made me even more bummed about them breaking up. Matt's new sideproject Shorebirds is pretty amazing, though. Looks like they're gonna be touring and putting out a full-length this summer. Stoked.

Also, as of late (well...more like since the end of December) I've been basically unable to listen to anything but Hot Water Music. Anyone going to the reunions in Philly or NYC?

I really dig The Lawrence Arms, particularly their last release "Oh! Calcutta!". Besides Propagandhi and early Strung Out and Against Me!, there aren't many punk bands I listen to, but The Lawrence Arms are really doing something new and amazing.

Any love for the band, and is there any where else I can go after I am through with them?

The Larries are my favorite band ever. Look into The Falcon, which is Brendan's "super group" consisting of him and Neil and Danny from Alkaline Trio. Also check out The Broadways, which was Chris and Brendan's band before the Arms. I think you'll like them if you like Propagandhi, they were very political. As far as unrelated bands, try Hot Water Music, particularly No Division and A Flight and a Crash, None More Black, Situationist Comedy by Dillinger Four, ...We Are Still Alive by Latterman and Goddamnit and Maybe I'll Catch Fire by Alkaline Trio.

I saw this tour in Chicago and it was fantastic. Since the Ben Weasel show was the next day at the same venue, we got the added bonus of Weasel coming out and singing on a Queers song. I don't even like the Queers' records that much, but they were a lot of fun live.

Plus, BtMI! (for the 5th time) and Andrew Jackson Jihad. Amazing. I bought Andrew Jackson Jihad's newest, Only God Can Judge Me, and while it's not impressing me as much as People Who Can Eat People..., mostly because of an overall slower tempo and less interesting lyrics on some songs (Growing Up, in particular), it's still pretty good.

Holy poo poo, that sounds epic. Curse not having a car.

Only God Can Judge Me grew on me pretty fast. Especially Human Kittens. It's, um, interesting, even by AJJ standards.

The new Gaslight Anthem album leaked yesterday. I had extremely high expectations and it completely met them. Album of the year so far.

I got it but haven't listened yet, good to hear someone speak well of it. I heard something about Wollard from HWM playing guitar on some tracks but I haven't found any evidence of it.

Anyone listened to the bootlegs from the acoustic show Tom Gabel did at Emo's earlier this month? I wasn't expecting much but I was pleasantly surprised, especially by "Anna is a loving Stool Pigeon". That song sounds like it could have been on the Acoustic EP. Let's hope this is a sign that they're going back to their roots and we don't have to worry about another "Stop" on the next album.

Seeing Hot Water Music tomorrow night in Los Angeles. I haven't seen them since just after Caution came out, so to say I'm excited is a bit of an understatement. Anyone catch any of their earlier "reunion" shows? How were they?

Caught the all ages show in Chicago and it was the single greatest experience of my life. I didn't get into them until the end of last year and therefore had never seen them before, so it was pretty amazing. Plus they played Moonpies for Misfits.

And to the guy looking for anti-police songs, try gently caress Authority by Pennywise.

Mischief Brew, Wingnut Dishwashers Union/Johnny Hobo and the Freight Trains, Tom Frampton, older Fake Problems, The Riot Before, Nana Grizol, Saw Wheel.

Edit: poo poo, forgot Rumbleseat. And in that same vein, about half of Chris Wollard's new-ish album is pretty folky.
