Gun Kings has made this mod for the Nordic AR22 system for the 10/22.![]() And it looks like this on the AR22 body ![]() Close up on the front end ![]() Basically you can go with a GSG-5 and shell out 500 for the gun and 40 bucks for mags Or use an existing 10/22 and shell out 500 bucks and have a wannabe AR15. Or buy an AR15 22lr upper for 500 and still shell out 30 to 50 bucks for mags. Aside from the totally useless factor it is kinda neat.

ph4lcon posted:How hard is it to install new sights on a 10/22 barrel? I've got a summer project I want to work on. They are easy get a punch and drift em out. I bought some Tech Sights and installed them easy. Bad thing was I used a steel punch instead of a brass punch and utterly loving destroyed the old front sight, but since I was replacing it I don't care. Oh and make sure you drift them out the correct way, can't remember which way it is off the top of my head though. The new sights should come with instructions on how to do it. Also I'd recommend removing the barrel before you install the new sites but you don't have to.

ph4lcon posted:Here's what I'm doing. I'm building a trunk gun for those "loving HELL! WAS THAT A RACCOON!?" moments. That way I can grab it and run off into the woods. That sounds almost exactly what I have set up. I had an 18inch barrel and got a 16 inch for $30 off gun broker. I ended up breaking the stock front sight on the 16 inch barrel getting it out but my 18 fine in case I ever want to go back. My 10/22 with stock extended is about 1cm longer than my AR15 and has the same sight picture because of the tech sights. Get the Butler Creek Folding stock, it is rock solid and will take truck gun abuse. 10/22s are the easiest guns to gently caress with, and even if you mess up the parts are cheap to replace. Hell a whole new 10/22 is still under $200.

sbyers77 posted:So here is my stupid newbie question: should I break it down and clean it before I shoot it or should it be okay to go out of the box? I've shot easily like 1000 rounds through my 10/22 without cleaning. It doesn't really matter. Just take it out and blast away.

moosepoop posted:Does anyone here have a 1022 takedown? I just applied for a license for one. Please tell me they are not total poo poo I checked one out at the store before the panic and they are awesome. You can't swap stocks with all the other 10/22 stocks out there but if that isn't important to you, then you'll love it. They are great.

moosepoop posted:I get that I cannot swap stocks unless I saw them in 2 or something No the barrels can't be swapped from what I can tell, because of the way it twists and locks in. ![]() ![]() Video of it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ktn4gDpwkU4 You're going to sacrifice the customize-ability of the 10/22 for the take down aspect. Trigger and charging handle etc should be swappable though. Just not barrels.

Javid posted:Are there any good, click-adjustable replacement sights that use the factory dovetail in the barrel? I want to keep the scope holes handy for whatever scope I wind up buying, but also like decent irons. Tech Sights spring to mind but you'll lose your rear scope holes. That said it is stupid simple to remove the rear and put in a scope later.

but are barrels compatible? Could I get a bull barrel for it at a later date if I wanted (and remodeled the stock or something for it)? I am guessing a trigger swap is no issue at least.
