Those are some big brakes for a little car. You're probably gonna lock 'em down everywhere on normal tires with that light car and those big brakes. Shouldn't be bad with good tires, though. I'm also interested to see how well the MR2's SC fits on the BP. You'll definitely stand out from the rest of the turbo BP crowd

Here comes the third-in-a-row-with-picture-content reply to my own thread! You guys are always so supportive. To run my grill/bumper combo, a lot of the grill had to be chopped up. The trim below the headlights has to basically be molded onto the headlight assembly to be strong enough (since you have to cut ALL the mounting away at the inside of the headlight area). I didn't like this (plus I had a fancy GTX grill show up). So begins modification on my spare (although very bent up so won't align right) Escort GT bumper. ![]() Test fitting with grill. ![]() Can't wait to fiberglass the gaping holes up. ![]() The man in the Caravan wants to surprise sex you. Hard. ![]() Most test fitting/cutting to accept factory-ish lights. ![]() The big test fit begins. ![]() NAKED! ![]() And? ![]() ![]() Oh yeah, there's work to be done. Look at the gaps under the grill. ![]() So, what do you guys think of this? EDIT: P.S. I put it back to the white bumper and grill back on for now. I will admit its pretty disheartening though when you spend a few hours busting rear end in a cold garage, remembering to take photos since everyone threw up a poo poo a year or so ago about no one documenting their projects (hence why not many project threads seem to see through to completion). Then posting up the updates and no one replies. Thats not to say that I bust rear end on my project, but sock certainly does. I still like to post the odd 'yeah havn't done poo poo' post so people know I'm still remembering the thread and not just continuing work without documenting.

Holy gently caress, this is so great. Ive wanted a 323 GTX since I found out about them about forever ago. This is better. MUCH better (and easier to get parts for). This project comes with legoyness that rivals VW projects that Ive seen (a lot of). Along with the 3800 into the Corolla project its lighting a fire under my rear end to get on my Scirocco project which is top secret until I start the thread. I thought my favorite part was the huge fuel gauge in the 323, rivaled only by early 80s Chevy trucks, until I laid eyes upon that sweet-rear end exhaust. Stainless loving steel. This 323 is a Hot Rod, the modern version of a Deuce Coupe with a flathead.

I'm more of a fan of the white bumper/grill combination-I'm not sure whether I like the more curvaceous Escort stuff. The rectangular stuff flows better with the overall shape of the car, I think. Maybe it will look better when the colors match. Regardless, this is coming along great, and I can't wait to see how it turns out.

I dunno, I think I might be tempted to ditch the EGT bumper and use either a 3-hole or an Interplay bumper from the GTX. Corksport has the Interplay for $330 and the 3-hole for $280 (in US dollars). I like the Interplay bumper a little more than the 3-hole, but I can't put my finger on exactly why. In case people are curious what each looks like, here they are: Interplay: http://corksport.com/store/large/ab...ont_bumper.html 3-hole: http://corksport.com/store/large/1c...ont_bumper.html I desperately want a set of E-code glass headlights for my Pro, but they're hard as hell to find with all of the mounting stuff and pigtails included. Not to mention expensive as well.

Check ebay.de for scheinwerfer Left headlamp and blinker for 1 euro. Right headlamp for 25 euros. Right blinker for 18.70 euros. Shipping unfortunately will be pretty expensive. I believe DHL would be the cheapest option. Fashion your own harness with heavy gauge wire and quality relays. You can purchase H4 and other bulb connectors from rallylights.com.

I'll also close the hood ('doh, forgot to in the pictures), bolt in the headlights (so they don't droop), and mount the lower headlight trim. bandman posted:I dunno, I think I might be tempted to ditch the EGT bumper and use either a 3-hole or an Interplay bumper from the GTX. meatpotato posted:The main thing that's been bugging me forever is the gap under the headlights. Are you going to make plastic spacers or something to fill it in? There's a factory piece of trim that goes there. It interfered with the front lip on the top of the Escort GT bumper. I have a spare set to go in there with the modified GT bumper + GTX grill combo (which will accept the lower light trim). Yeah, it bugs me too.

Looking pretty good. And yea, mutiple hundreds on a front bumper seems a little silly since it would be close to the most expensive part on what's becoming a very nicely sorted out car. I'll also be interested to see how the brake thing works out, I don't remember many compatible brake upgrades at the time other than maybe FC RX-7 brakes or something. What's the status on the house/garage? Getting closer? You should move to PA so you can fix up my car
