I think you get more done in a week than I get done...ever. Keep it up, it's awesome for all of us slackers.

Sock, you could always try and get some custom endtanks welded on, or at least see what the price is for it. Maybe an aftermarket intercooler would be cheaper though. Would there be room to rig up a sidemount? I know the last gen supras had a pretty decent sized sidemount that would probably do you well. Edit: Looks to be plastic...Nevermind that welding comment.

Sockington posted:I scribed marks before disassembly, so I *should* be fine. However, by the time I probably go to get the 323 boosted, I'll probably just buy a brand new turbo then. I wouldn't trust your scribe marks on something that spins at ~100,000 rpm. Just a little bit off and it could probably do some damage. I'll admit I'm not sure how precisely the assembly is balanced, but I wouldn't want to risk it for something that won't cost a whole lot and could potentially send compressor blades through your engine.

Seems like a lot of work for such a small gain, but it does look nice. I suppose it's better to be doing it than reading about somebody else doing it. haha.

Good work, and I'm totally stealing that cheater pipe breaker bar idea since I don't have a large pipe laying around. I wish I would have thought of that when I was doing my clutch last week.

Oh Sock. You make it sound so easy. Not everybody here is as motivated as you, unfortunately. I've had a catalytic converter for my car for a couple months and I've been too lazy to undo 4 bolts.

Sockington posted:One of those two crossmember mounting bolts shown has ripped the captured nut loose inside the body. I now have to cut a flap into the body, bend it out, re-weld the nut (will do both while I'm there. loving captured nuts), bend the body metal back down, re-weld the body, then paint it for protection. Weld a nut to a washer, weld washer to subframe. No cutting, and pretty quick and easy. I've got to do that to a couple nuts holding on the bottom of my fender that broke off.

I'm waiting until at least mid/late April to switch to summers where I'm at in Detroit (not too far from Mr. Sock). You'll probably be fine though. These past couple nice days have played a trick on you. I almost switched too because how can the weather be bad again after being 60 degrees for 3 days straight?

Sock, those cars are incredibly easy to mess with the ECU using ROMRaider to shut off codes. I bought a $100 adapter that's been sitting around for years now (sold car) that we could permanently shut that CEL off and get cruise back. I had to do this on my Saabaru because the secondary air system failed and I sure as poo poo wasn't paying $1k to get cruise to work. I'm in the Detroit area if you wanted to pop across the border for a quick flash and go.

Slow is Fast posted:The NA ECU and turbo ECU's are very different. Dunno, seems like it works just the same since the ECUs are supported. http://www.romraider.com/Documentation/SupportedECUs Sock, I don't know the details of your car (Year, 06 or 07) and if it's a manual or auto. We need to hook up to read the ECU and make sure it's supported, download your calibration then we can uncheck whatever codes you want and reflash. It's a pretty simple process and would probably take an hour or two start to finish including installing all the programs and downloading files. It's been awhile since I've done it but I was able to not gently caress it up on my car when I had to do it. If you'd rather not make the trip to potentially not be able to flash, I can maybe ship you my Tactrix at cost if you'll ship it back when you're done. Looks like around $20 flat rate? I just don't know how much of a pain customs and all that poo poo is (I never ship internationally). Was waiting for this. haha.
