I just got a pair of vintage EHX Clone Theories off of eBay that needed a little fixing up. One powered up no problems and the other had the transformer disconnected for some reason, but after reattaching that it seems to function the same as the first. However, I can't really verify if the Edge switches are doing anything on either. If anyone has an original, how much of a difference does it make on or off? I hear a little click then moving the switch, but the tone really doesn't change much that I can hear.

I'm looking for a loop pedal (effects loop, not a phrase sampler) that has some kind of attack/release on the loop. Kinda like an envelope filter/auto wah, but the ability to run any kind of effect through it.

One possibility is the ZVEX Loop Gate, however all the demos seem to involve running some pile of garbage through the loop. It looks like the gate affects both the original and loop at the same time though.

edit: I guess what I'm looking for may be better described as a blend pedal with an envelope on the mix control

If the HD500 has a limiter use that after the drive section instead of a compressor.

I am looking for a Trem / Vibrato pedal that is easy to dial in speeds accurately and repeatably.
I have an Electro Harmonix Stereo Pulsar that is great but a real bitch to tempo match with.
Any recommendations?

Does anyone make a DIY kit like the Beavis Board anymore? I'd like to try making some stuff, but I'm more interested in finding out how/why circuits work than making a bunch of Tubescreamer or Rat clones for like $60 a pop.

Looking for a pedal like this or maybe a kit so I can build one myself, though I don't trust my workmanship. Basically a TRS/stereo input to two mono outputs, maybe a little bigger than the enclosure he used. The Lehle Little Dual would do the job without me having to build anything but gently caress paying 200 for it. If anyone wants to build one and art it up I'd be willing to pay for it too.

Do you need the foot switches? A basic Ric-O-Sound clone would do the splitting for you, like http://rich-e-split.com

According to the manual the Bad Monkey does have a speaker emulator on the mixer out.

There's also the Fuzzrocious Afterlife which has second reverb setting that you can use to put it into self-oscillation

Re: suboctave stuff

I have a Boss OC-3 which has -1 and -2 octave settings, and it tracks pretty well down to about a B/Bb on a bass guitar (7th fret E string/2nd fret A).

However, two octaves down sounds like poo poo. Its barely discernable as a note and doesn't sound anything like club music bass drums. Those drums live in the frequency range of a normal bass guitar, and only play on the quarter notes so the hits have some time to breath and develop. If you're playing fast that will have the opposite effect. You can help your tone some by boosting lows and probably more importantly low mids, but you're really going to have to rely on being in sync with your drummer because the bass drum is where the punch is going to come from.
