For anyone who downloaded Uneasy Listening from above -- I've since located a .flac rip of the album that is much higher quality than the version I compiled. I'll update the post with the newer version as soon as I'm able, and will post here when that's done.

e: It's done now, here is the link again for this page.

That's the official link, and it does have track names/lengths. It would be rad if you went through with it!

I'm also going to get around to this at some point. Thanks for the link.

I know this hasn't been discussed for many pages now, but I've been listening to Milkman's Algorithms quite a bit recently and its grown on me so, so much. When it was released I was pretty underwhelmed and in retrospect I have no idea why. Phenomenal album.

Algorithms is one of my favourite albums ever, so many great moments and a real high point to end his mashup career on. The bass drum in Every Night is so drat fat, so fun to bounce around to.

That was skillful. I don't think it would make my tracklist, but it's well-crafted.

Yeah, I interpreted as the band distributing them - if I am off base with that my bad I guess. Posting it on Facebook is hardly a restricted distribution after all.

E-603's SMOKESHOW has really grown on me. I prefer his shorter cuts over Girl Talk's longer samples. While GT's stuff is top notch I've always liked E-603 a little better. VV

Download "A Summer in 3/4 Time"

I wasn't sure about posting this here, because it's not strictly "Girl Talk" type stuff and it's not strictly "mashup" type stuff. I figured it wouldn't hurt to share it here.

This is Jens Lekman's A Summer in 3/4 Time. A couple of years ago Lekman was offered a chance to remix Au Revior Simone's song "Shadows" and, in doing so, transformed it from a pressing 4/4 time signature into a slow, waltzy, beautiful 3/4. Lekman started hearing 3/4 time all over the place, and kept adding other songs to the mix. This eventually resulted in an incredible 28-minute-long mixture of recent indie music, african pop, soul ballads, and old films.

I split the 28-minute long track into an 11-track "album" which you can download above. Like I said, it's much less hip-hoppy than most of what is posted in this thread, but it is an amazing experience. Please let me know what you think if you do end up listening to it.

Also, Ludachrist's BANGFEST is in the works. Hold tight.

Please tell me someone here knows what the hell I'm talking about.

There was either a mixtape or mashup I listened to often, at one point adele's rolling in the deep is mixed with what sounds like maybe hot chip? I was out having some drinks with some friends when someone put on Rolling in the Deep, it was the first time I'd ever heard the original song and loudly proclaimed "Hey! I've heard this in ________"

The next morning I wanted to listen to it and promptly spent an hour going through my library trying to remember what the hell it was. I've now wasted countless hours googling, listening to lovely mashups on youtube, downloading random mixtapes and mashups and I can't find the goddamn thing.

Please, please someone tell me I'm not trying to remember something I dreamed or made up in a drunken state.

Girl Talk did sample Aphex Twin in his album "Feed the animals". On the song "Shut the club down". It's another one of Aphex Twin's melodies with hip hop. It's quite good.

Can anyone tell me what sample is used in the very beginning of this song? I know the baseline but I was wondering who was doing the lyrics in the first 25 seconds. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c5FZlqSWNmU

(Also, Algorithms is probably one of the best mash-up albums I've heard. Milkman hit it out of the park with this one.)
