Bullpups are by design more space efficient, though at the cost of ergonomics. This rifle is probably suppressed.

I don't think you can safely assume it's suppressed just because there's a huge shroud around the barrel that could serve no other reasonable purpose. I mean, there's also one of those around the scope.

You'd have figured with the spacegun aesthetic they'd have gone with something more high-tech than woodland camo.

This has actually been explained to me a few times.

Apparently transferable m1919s, while expensive, are not crazy-town expensive (well, by transferable MG standards). Because of this they are really popular with the people who want to own a SAW SO loving BAD but can't afford one of the very, very few non-dealer samples out there.

So they get a m1919 and tart it up to look kind of like a SAW.

Some info on that gun from Guisan over on Swiss Rifles(as always, they are too nice about such things):

Guisan posted:

The rifle was made some 15 years ago and the reason for the bullpup design was because of the integrated suppressor, a standard K31 with a suppressor gets too long and has too much weight near the muzzle putting it out of balance, the compact bullpup is more easy to handle.
Over the years the rifle was optimized and the latest change was done last winter when it got it's current TAZ90 camo finish.

Some specifications of the rifle;

- K31 receiver.
- 'Furter' match-grade bull-barell, 25 inches long, free floating.
- suppressor (5 inches in front of the muzzle, 8 inches behind the muzzle, works very good).
- Overall length: 40,6 inches (that's pretty short).
- Scope Springfield 6x 40.
- Bipod is special, the rifle is 'hanging' under instead of 'standing' on the bipod.
- Special stock, build from ply-wood (in german: Schichtholz).
- Mechanical trigger connected to the original trigger in the back of the stock (bullpup-system).
- 6 round original magazine.
- This winter it got a new finish in Swiss-camo pattern, after having optimized the stock (better scope protection, as seen in the pictures).
- Weight is 16,7 pounds (a little bit heavy)
- It shoots 1 MOA, very accurately till about 800 m using original Swiss GP11 ammunition (at 800 m on a steel plate (30 x 40 cm) some 70 % hits).

My dictionary gives Schichtholz as laminated wood (literally layer-wood), a significantly less material for stock-building. Plywood is Sperrholz (interlocking-wood, I think?)

If it wasn't destroying good milsurp, the middle one doesn't seem all that bad. Not sure I like the thumbhole stock, but I'd probably buy that if it was a new production hunting weapon.
