Tactifudd has been posted already. Cut down the wooden stock and drill/tap a scope right on top of the action, so you insert an 8 round clip and then mount the scope. 3 bullets to zero the scope, 5 to hunt. Also he would be wearing real-tree camo, not regular camo.

I was thinking about that, and if you had a gun that used strippers/en-bloc clips that drop out, could you mount a scope on a gun using strong magnets in a shallow hole on the gun that lock into matching pegs on the mount?

He was referring to a particularly -worthy sporterized garand that had a scope mounted in the traditional place. ie right above the ejection/loading port (whatever it's called on the garand)
