people also frequently gently caress up the basic premise of hte tacticlol thread. The idea isn't to post the most awesome shotgun ever. The idea is to post the biggest abortions you can find, hideous monstrosities that should never see the light of day. Usuall ythe mistake is thinking anything railed and black is tacticlol. Hint: if it's using high quality accessories and everything has a function, it's not tacticlol.

Honestly, the only beef I have with it is the bayonet. The AR sights make sense in a way, especially if the Eotech wasn't on there. One of these days I would love for my 870 to have HK MP7 sights on there. I think they would be loving IDEAL for shotgun work.

What's tacticlol about the shotgun? Rails are $300, eotech ~$500 (min), bayonet, front and rear backup sights, m4 stock, a2 pistol grip...meanwhile a 300 dollar shotgun is going to do the same job...it has so much poo poo and it has no performance edge. This is all opinion though, everyone likes/dislikes different guns, it's so silly to argue about.

Plucky posted:What's tacticlol about the shotgun? The grip and stock has better ergonomics for most people. The eotech increases your accuracy with slugs and for many people increases your overall accuracy without sacrificing speed. Just because you can't justify the cost of a quality reddot doesn't mean everyone feels the same way as you. The other stuff isn't necessary and is obviously on there for show.

Cyrano4747 posted:Fun fact: shooting down a balloon counted as an air to air kill in WW1, and there were aces who scored all their kills doing just that. They were also considered rather hard and potentially suicidal motherfuckers, since the balloons were fairly tough targets due to the astounding amount of flak and AAA emplaced around them to prevent just that. Performing slight thread necromancy, mainly because this dude was a bona fide badass and there's a tangential relation to guns at the end, I give you Frank Luke: ![]() Here's the tl;dr version: He spent his teenage years working in a copper mine and taking part in bare knuckle boxing matches. WWI started and his country called, so he joined up and got pilot training. Once in France, he developed a reputation for being a lone wolf and disobeying orders, but no one cared because he busted balloons. He busted them and a friend flew top cover, they racked up 13 kills; the Germans shot down and killed his friend. He responded by accelerating the rampage...over the whole period (both before and after his friend got shot down) he downed 14 balloons and 4 aircraft, for a total of 18 kills...in 10 sorties over a period of 8 days. Yes, that's right, he was in combat a grand total of 8 days before he was KIA and racked up 18 kills in that time. Anyway, he was shortly thereafter shot down after shooting down his 18th and final kill. He was mortally wounded by a machine gun bullet while busting the final balloon and was forced to crash land; after landing he was approached by a squad of German soldiers. The next day his body was found next to an empty 1911 and 7 dead German soldiers. That last bit is actually a bit of a fib...he did draw his weapon and fire a few shots at the enemy soldiers, but he then collapsed from his fatal wound. I'm leaving the original erroneous story in though, because it's part of his mythos. ![]() Bad. rear end. Mother. Fucker. iyaayas01 fucked around with this message at Jul 31, 2010 around 08:45 |
