Once a firearm is branded as 'tacticLOL', it is forever stained with that reputation. Due to this, I nominate the Greek letter STIGMA to represent the TacticLOL Ratio.

You would think they could come up with some form of belt fed shotgun for a vehicle mount. I guess 40 rounds of 00 will disperse a crowd rather quickly; it just seems limited for a vehicle mounted weapon.

12 gauge mini gun would be amazing.

Mmmmkay, the optics appear to be these, so a=950 (I added $50 for the rail), and c= ~$200; therefor x(stigma)= 4.75!

Yeah - mounting those on the roof w/o a manual turret, instead a remote-aim and no visible optical targeting system - seems like it would be a shoot-and-adjust-fire method - you'd burn through the drums fast.

Why not use a Mk 19 Grenade Launcher instead? Cost is the only thing I can think of.

Oh well, it looks like a testbed anyway.

Completely by accident I ran across the fact that Pimp My Gun was being pushed about on The Escapist's forums. At least some of them appear to be completely serious about the jokes of guns they come up with.

This is a "post pictures" thread but if the kind of thinking in the following excerpt isn't the heart of TacticLOL I don't know what is:

The Escapist Forums posted:

Well, that's annoying.

No Colt 1911, any version. [Editor's note: ]

I wanted to make a 1911 with shoulder stock like the Dragunov, extend the frame forwards, give it a front grip with a bit of slope so you won't twist your wrist out of shape holding it up, put a fast-target-picture-acquisition 1x40 scope on it and replace the barrel with a design like the silenced Sten, maybe 12" with a lot of vents in the front 3", then a 6" sleeve over it that vents from its rear 2" into an outer sleeve that vents from the front so you won't deafen yourself firing it indoors without ear defenders, and finally put two spare magazines into housings in the stock so you only have to pick up one item when you hear the front door crash in.

In the absense of a .45, I had to start with a Gun which shall not be named, assume it was the .44 Magnum version and declare the invention of a whole new round with the same external dimensions as a .44 Magnum and the same or lower peak pressure at any position in the weapon but a heavier projectile and subsonic muzzle velocity. Make it a ball round with a thick jacket and you've got a cannonball that'll go through a bear. Make it a PowRBall and you've got something that'll open up like a banana peel and rock an intruder backwards like he fired it in a locked-arms isosceles stance then spray his spleen over the wall. Make it a Glaser and you've actually got enough weight in there for it to blow through its own expansion cavity and turn his vital organs to mincemeat.

Isn't this being billed as an active protection system? I remember the Russians have this thing called Arena and the Israelis have a similar system called Trophy, both of which are fire off screens of buckshot to defeat missiles. I can see something like this being a cheaper alternative, especially for retrofitting civilian vehicles for convoy duty.

Well... wasn't trying to send out a line. Honestly I didn't know people used handguns for any hunting. Like I said I don't know much about guns in general. But on that point... what other uses are there for a gun besides self defense (offense), hunting, or just having target practice fun?

The part about using the Greek letter Stigma (to represent the TacticLOL factor) being awesome? Using STIGMA to symbolize the TacticLOL ratio seems particularly brilliant because:

* There is a formula for calculating the TacticLOL ratio of a given firearm (cost of accessories) / (base cost of firearm) = TacticLOL ratio. If over 2.1, then firearm is TacticLOL.
* It's hip to represent math stuff - for example the money shot of a formula - with cool greek letters
* "Once a firearm is branded as 'tacticLOL', it is forever stained with that reputation" (i.e. 'stigmatized')

I played with a Spyder with an exposed bolt. I could fire that thing faster than the Angles and other full autos on the scene at the time. I would rest the tank on my shoulder and bounce my index finger off the trigger guard and trigger.
