If your cops already train on M4s for patrol guns or similar, why not make their less lethal weapons work the same way or as similar as possible? Hence the Colt SMG was born... Fake edit: I dunno I kind of like the magazine capacity my M9. I got to shoot the D.S.S.'s P229 at a recent range qual and it felt high centered to me. I mean 13(+1) vs 15 (+1) may not seem like that big a deal. But If I had to choose, I'd go with the M9. Don't get me wrong, I loving love SIGs. But for the mission we have, the M9 is better suited. Why though? don't Law enforcement have physical fitness tests like in the Military? You would think it would be a prerequisite to be able to run a 19 minute 3 miler. Or to be able to do X amount of Pull ups or X amount of crunches in a certain amount of time.

The ideal scenario for doing a press check is when you are sighted in and cannot take your eyes away from your field of fire after engaging a target with a few rounds. The benefits of doing that, or just canting the shotgun and looking down your weapon are debatable. It’s kind of like slapping the side of your receiver to release the bolt on a fresh mag for an AR platform. All that "gross motor skill combat stress" crap, -personally I'd never do that because one, I'm a lefty so it doesn’t work out for me so well, and secondly I've never been so antsy in my pantsy to not be able to simply extend my trigger finger and press the bolt release (I guess a minor benefit of being a lefty) These are just some of the many tools at your disposal when being all HSLD 'n poo poo and not to be taken as THE ONE TRUE TACTICAL.

It could be done, a single stack 1911 with an extended magazine inserted. Take the baseplate off the mag, weld on a feeding chute. The backpack would be the tricky part. You could either have a mechanism that kept continous pressure within the feeding shoot by having the motor always "on" or a pull start type spring dealy hooked to a sensor that is wound up by an electric motor after so many rounds are fired. You could make it so the backpack has 3 slots to except Calico magazines They could be dropped in and removed on the fly. Or just have one big cavity with little slots so as to funnel to rounds to the feeding motor. Kinda like code:shaddup I'm bored
