Right now I'm binging my way through season 1 of The Shield. I've really been enjoying it overall, but it's definitely not as good as The Wire. I've got a birthday coming up in February and I'm hoping that I'll be able to get the complete series set of The Wire that was just recently released. I've only seen the first 3 seasons so far, but it's most definitely one of my favorite shows of all time and I look forward to watching it all from start to finish ASAP. Recently I've also binged on Smallville S1, Spaced, Heroes S2 and How I Met Your Mother S2 - current S4. My goals are to complete the following in a somewhat timely fashion: Friday Night Lights S1 John From Cincinatti S1 Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles S1 The Venture Brothers S2 Freakazoid S1 Carnivale S1 Veronica Mars S3 We'll see how fast I actually make it through all that stuff, but I'll give it a shot. I've actually got more stuff that I need to watch besides just those sets, but I figured I may as well start somewhere. Dayewalker fucked around with this message at Jan 5, 2009 around 05:05 |

MrCompson posted:I recently binged through Veronica Mars, and while the third season was basically low-point after low-point, the last couple of scenes in the finale left me wanting more. Thanks for this information. I've been waiting for someone to say something about season 3 of Veronica Mars to spark my interest again. I bought it probably a year ago, watched a couple of episodes and got bored. Now you've made me curious about the finale.

You've got a really awesome back-to-back combo going on there man! Freaks and Geeks is a really fun show, even more so now because you can try to spot all the people who went on the become much bigger stars. How I Met Your Mother is incredibly hilarious for a lot of reasons, but Barney is by far the greatest to me. His antics never cease to amaze and amuse the poo poo out of me. Enjoy!

I just recently started watching BSG and managed to finish the first season over the course of the past week. I've been pleasantly surprised by how awesome it is because I'm generally not that big of a fan of sci-fi shows. I really like how there seems to be more of a focus on the human aspect of the show as opposed to having a bunch of goofy Muppet aliens running around. I started season 2 last night and I'm already psyched for all things to come henceforth. Where does the BSG movie Razor fit into the whole scheme of things? Should I watch it after I finish everything else or at a particular point during the show's run?

Nate RFB posted:Razor is mostly flashback stories, but you should watch it after season 3 and before season 4 (technically it counts as the first few episodes of season 4). Count Choculitis posted:I agree that it's definitely best to watch it after season 3, but chronologically, it fits in after "The Captain's Hand" and before "Lay Down Your Burdens," so technically you can watch it anytime in there. Thanks guys. I had asked a friend of mine the same question, but his response didn't make as much sense as what you two said. I'll just watch it after season 3.

Just finished binging through the complete series of The Wire and I definitely agree that it's one of the best TV shows ever produced. I watched Breaking Bad Season 1 this weekend. It sucks that it was only 7 episodes due to the writer's strike, but I've heard great things about season 2. I'm looking forward to catching up on that soon. Today I started on season 1 of Six Feet Under for the second time. I started watching it a year or so ago, but I can't remember if I ever finished it. I'm planning on binging through the whole series since I've had the DVD's for over a year now. I just wish I had time to watch all the other stuff that is sitting on the shelf collecting dust.

I definitely have to agree with all the love for Misfits in this thread. It's a great show all the way around and I can't wait for the new season. I just finished watching season 5 of Six Feet Under today. The finale is possibly the best finale I've ever seen for any show ever. I had heard that it was an amazing episode, but I honestly had no idea that it would be that incredible. I definitely recommend that everyone watch that show at some point. I think I'm gonna try to finally make my way through The Shield next. I watched season 1 a few years back, but I never went any further. I'm hoping it lives up to all the great things I've heard about it.

Alfred P. Pseudonym posted:Two seasons into Breaking Bad and god drat does this show have some intense/badass/horribly depressing moments. I really can't stand Skyler, but her motivations are pretty reasonable so I can't hate her too much, I suppose. I hated her myself throughout the first three seasons, but her character has been growing on me with the new season. She seems to be less of a complete bitch now than she was earlier on in the show.

precision posted:The only reason I have a hard time recommending Lost to anyone is that, while it was great and I was a raging fanboy the entire time (but especially seasons 4-6), pretty much immediately after it was over I forgot about it. And I'm not one of those "the ending was so disappointing" people exactly, it just... I don't know, it seems like almost nothing in the show ended up mattering. And it's a really long show to recommend to someone who might feel like I did, that they basically wasted 100+ hours on something they'll never even think of again. That's pretty much how I feel about Lost, although I definitely wasn't a raging fanboy. I just have a hard time recommending it to anyone because it was such a huge time investment for not nearly as much enjoyment. It absolutely has some awesome moments throughout the series, but just not enough to justify 100+ hours of viewing.
