How do OpenGL versions map to DirectX versions in terms of hardware requirements? For example, if I can target DirectX 9.0c, what OpenGL versions do I have to work with?

What's the latest craze in shadow mapping? I screwed myself royally trying to mix EVSM and SpeedTree back in the day, and I've kind of kept a distance since. Some people say floating point precision's to blame; But I know (na na na na na) It's all Nyquist's fault

Looks like my lust for D3D12 is going to force me into Windows 10. Got to figure out what the slow parts are right away or else I won't be able to figure out what horrible flaws the next crop of papers are trying to hide
