Either that or the importers caught up to the demand.

Hopefully they just keep flooding the market so that my dream of buying some of a retard stockpiler's AK hoard for $100 each.

You'll need a scope + rail($150 + $30) too, and another mag or three (~$25 each). It's not the greatest deal, but it's certainly not bad.

If I am wary of non-brass ammo, should I stay away from this stuff (Bear or Wolf)? Am I goofy for feeling this way?

Dear (BaronW),

The Memorial Day newsletter that was intended for our past customers was posted publicly on over a dozen "good deal" websites. Literally hundreds of people were trying to check out simultaneously and this caused a two-fold problem. 1) People were not able to check out properly, and 2) Our discontinued items were over-ordered literally overnight. Right now the only items left are Dosuns, which we have more than most other items.

The P3D Olive Finish flashlights were discontinued items that we were actually selling below our own cost. They will no longer be available. We have a limited number of P3Ds available in BLACK finish if you would like to receive one of those instead of the olive finish you purchased. Or, we can issue you a full refund and a discount on our upcoming Quark series (please see details below). Please let us know as soon as possible what youd like to do. If we dont hear from you within 24 hours, well simply give you a full refund for your P3D Olive purchase.

In an effort to compensate you for your inconvenience, we would like to offer you a one-time discount on any one of our upcoming 4Sevens Quark-series flashlights. The Quarks are due to come in within 2 weeks. You can find information about the Quark series in our forums:

http://www.cpfmarketplace.com/mp/forumdisplay.php?f=140

And you can find them up for pre-order on our online catalog (pictures are forthcoming):

https://www.4sevens.com/index.php?cPath=297

Here is an un-released picture that we used as part of our brochure:

http://chows.smugmug.com/photos/547655089_ktCPT-O.jpg

To receive the discount on one Quark light, simply write in the comments box while checking out that you would like to receive the 20% discount for the P3D overpurchase. Please be sure to include your order number from your P3D purchase, otherwise we cannot apply the discount.

If you are not interested or are upset about the whole matter, again I apologize for our error, and we will not bother you anymore.

If that is not the case, then a substitution for black P3Ds would be just

Hello (BaronW),

Thank you for the kind words. I do feel very bad about our inventory
being 'oversold' overnight. Your order was automatically moved into
the 'shipped' category because a label had been generated by our

the labels to contact the customers as soon as we could. So, no P3D
has actually been shipped. However, I will be shipping you
black-finish P3Ds in place of the Olives that you purchased.

Thank you for being so understanding,

I got it today. I was really afraid the caps were going to be soft plastic, but they appear to be metal.

There is an interesting thread here about them:
http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/...ad.php?t=180139

thread highlights:

I am putting mine on my "slapnuts" UTG rail equipped AK like this guy:

I definitely has me thinking about an Ultimak tube now though.

The pic this guy took shows the bottom of it, really looks like it might take the larue mount

bottom of Sig:

On the larue thing, I think it would be funny to have a mount that cost more than the POS scope. I guess there is co-witness riser mount for AR's from Botach and some company called American Defense makes one too.

Either way I read this:

Maxicon on Calguns posted:

- The base was stuck, like on MAX100's Konus, but a little application of plastic tweaker and rawhide mallet separated it, showing a clear brown glue holding the base on when the screws were removed. Mine didn't have Torx screws, but 2mm head Allen screws. I don't know if this is the same base as the T1, and will post pics in a review later. Interestingly, the cutouts at the top of the rail clamp, which only let you put the clamp on one way, appear identical between the Sig and Burris.

This guy owns a Sig red dot and a "ebay" chinese fake airsoft copy of a Aimpoint T-1 Micro. He and another guy with a Konus did some comparisons of them:

MAX100 on Calguns posted:

Maxicon on Calguns posted:

- The recoil lug/clamp screw are definitely heavier on the Konus, though the nut sticks out further, so that's a tradeoff. On the Sig, the screw/recoil lug has a round shaft, and doesn't stick up a lot, while on the Konus, it's a heavier shaft with a flat cut in it, which is a much better design for holding under recoil.

MAX100, could you pop the battery out and see how the PCB under it is labeled? Also, see if your rail clamp has the T shaped cutouts at the top.

On the Sig, the circuit board under the battery compartment is labeled:
94V-0
E204297
HY-2D
OSL-012-V2.0
The green circuit board is labeled the same as the Sig.

I don't see a T shaped cutout.

They are probably made by the same manufacture in China but have little different designs. The brightness settings are about the same.

I don't mind the heavy 1/2" Hex nut sticking out on the Knous. I want a durable mount.

Konus:

I was poking around various gun shops today and found the following items:

S&W Model 10, 2" barrel, blued with stag grips - $275
S&W Model 10, 2" barrel, nickel plated - $300
SIG P226, 9mm - $490

Another shop had one of those limited-edition P228Rs with the SIG light/laser combo for $900, which seems like a fair price for what it is.

The milsurp rack at the first shop was a treasure trove of bubba delights. There was a "Swiss 36" which appeared to be a K31 with a sporterized stock and a receiver peep sight instead of the normal rear sight. $130, though. There were Mosins ranging from a garden-variety M44 for $100 to a decent-looking Finn for $300. There were SKSs from $150 for a beater Yugo to $300 for a fairly nice Romanian.
