I watched Shock and Aww recently, and when Michael is at the parent teacher meeting, he stops to look at a school project on the development of Saddams palaces in Iraq and says something like "I swear this is just like our house." I was like "woah! There was also a sign that had "Hold on Surely Funke" written on it, a few episodes before we found out Maeby invented her. I love this show.

Diabolik900 posted:I'm on my second run-through of the series and I just started season 3 last night. Now that I know the twist, it's amazing how well the Rita storyline is done. I didn't suspect a thing my first time, but it all makes sense the second time. One of my favourite Rita episodes is when she calls Michael a pussy and everytime she says it, her mouth is obscured by Michaels head. Then in the same episode, they do a flashback to the war with a nurse calling a british soldier a pussy. The soldier is played by Tony Hale, and the nurse is played by Busters nurse who falls in love with him during his fake coma. I picked it up on my second run through of season 3 and it blew my mind.

I watched Prison Break-In again recently and found something i'm surprised i never checked out before. When Michael comes to the prison and he finds Lucille having dinner with the Warden, the Warden says "were the roles reversed, i may have to have you beaten with a bag full of batteries." which was a line from his screenplay. Then he gets up to leave and as he's leaving you can here him saying very quietly "I don't know why I always assume people have read my screenplay." It just made the joke that much funnier.

edit: never mind. It says "Gob's wife". Oscar isn't even on there. Going through the DVD's is great cos I get to pause anytime theres a wall of text flashed on the screen for a few seconds. The reviews for Maeby's movies are pretty great, but my favourite ones were the little snippets we see of Steve Holts classmates in the yearbooks. I also love how he gets more dejected each time he has to repeat. Noxville posted:Yeah, I absolutely hate that character and that episode. It's just so... I dunno, crass maybe. I just don't find any of it funny, and it's totally at odds with the kind of humour you usually get in the show. That episode had the part with Tobias at the spa though, didn't it? It also had one of my favourite scenes of Uncle Jack kicking Lindsay in the hot-tub and knocking her out. Tobias: It's a wonderful package! I'll take it! Spa worker: You just did. Tobias: ...... Also, I just have to say this since it's been on my mind for a while: In the opening credits, Buster never shows his left hand.

wa27 posted:I started watching through the series again recently and it's funny how much foreshadowing there is that I never picked up on. In early season two, there was a newscast being shown, and after the story, the anchor mentioned a story about a seal attack. You may want to watch season 2 again... Just remembered my all time favourite Buster moment. At the end of one of the episodes, he gets Franklin to replace his fake hand and Lucille tells him they won't let him in the country club with Franklin. Buster: AH DON' WANT NO PART OF YER TIGHTASS WHITE COUNTRY CLUB, YA FREAK BITCH!! Lucille: Buster: Just thinking about their expressions makes me laugh. I first noticed the show when I saw an ad on TV for season 3 of the godzilla scene: Lucille: GGGGGGGGrrrrrrrrrhhh... Michael: Nice one mom. Lucille: What? Michael: ...nothing. Just thought you were doing a godzilla impression. Lucille: MMMMMBBBBBBBPPPPHHHH! Michael: We're not doing them anymore. Lucille: I'M LAUGHING! I remember thinking "that show actually looks pretty funny". I bought the season 1 DVD's the next day and instantly fell in love with the show during the "fire-sale" scene.

Gob: Yes, I am judging your name. It am silly. Franklin: Is. Michael: Please stop. Gob: Oh, now, you're correcting my grammar.

My favourite George Sr. moment is when he asks Michael for a jacuzzi so he can eat boil-in-the-bag noodles in the attic.

iron chic posted:I just now noticed that when Buster finds his hand chair at Lupe's house prior to the seal incident he says "Wow, I'd never thought I'd miss a hand so much" One of my favourites is when the whole family is watching a video tape and it cuts to GM playing as a Jedi in the garage. In the video you can hear GM saying "ow my hand" and the camera is focused on Buster at the time.
