There are two things in this show that I didn't get:

1) Michael is talking to Lindsay about Maggie's baby and he says "it's probably some loser Simpsons writer's" and Lindsay says "first of all, not all Simpsons writers are losers"

2) When Lucille 2 is in the club and Tobias starts singing she says "everybody thinks that Frank Sinatra..."

I haven't seen the show in a while so the dialogue is probably wrong but it gets the general point across. What do they mean here?
For 2, IIRC it's because that song is always attributed to Frank Sinatra but his version was actually a cover, and Liza Minnelli (Lucille II) sang it first.

I think what hooked me was in the pilot when GOB accidentally tells Michael that their sister has been in town for a month, and then tries to backtrack with a half-assed "I don't think so" and putting his Segway in reverse. GOB fan 4 lyf

I think what sold me on the series was the return on the seemingly-lowbrow joke "I have that exact same blouse!"

However, I was sold on GOB after he accidentally blurts out to Michael how Lindsay has been in town a month, and then tries to backtrack with a weak "I don't think so" and a Segway escape.

I have to say, bleeping out all of the curse words ended up yielding some of the most hilarious moments of the series.

In particular, Buster's "YOU OLD HORNY SLUT" tirade.

It's funny either way. One gives a little extra gag humor to the "detective work" line, but not really all that much. The primary joke of the line is that Michael just flat-out asked the suspect if he was guilty instead of snooping for additional evidence, and that's funny regardless of T-Bone's response.

drat, this probably deserves a sperg or goonsay emote.

I just finished watching through the entire show for the first time thanks to Netflix streaming. What a fantastic series!

One of my favorites of the many absolutely hilarious exchanges, which I was surprised not to see quoted in this thread, was

Lindsay: We’re super rich again! And, I’m going to buy a car. The Volvo. (Hands Michael a paper)
Michael: Lindsay, you’re not going to start spending money. And that's not a volvo
Lindsay: Oh, that's from sitting on the copier. (Switches papers)
[...]
Lindsay: I can't believe he left me! And this! (Points to paper in Michael's hand)
Michael: That's the car.
Lindsay: Oh! (Switches papers) This!
Michael: Glad we didn't spring for the color copier.
[...]
Michael: Maybe we should get the car.
Lindsay: I don't know. It's so... boxy.

The first two gags had me laughing but at that almost throwaway line at the end, I lost it.
Haha, never picked up on that last joke before.
