Weird chair, looks confining.

I had one a few years ago and the chair is pretty comfy, but you can't really lounge in it. However, the cover didn't last a year and you can't exchange it unlike most cloth-based covers Ikea sells. Otherwise it's a very sturdy chair, but the cover ruins it.

Crosspost from the GBS thread.

My dad and I constructed an 8ft long desk. It's pretty spacious!

Yes, I like Formula One. Alot.

The cables are quite tidy under it, but it's a little messier to the right of the desk where my Steering Wheel/Pedals hide, as well as my guitar amp.

That's a Corepad XXL, I bought it years ago and I think they went out of business, Amazon only has a couple of the smaller ones from a reseller.

I think, Filco actually made huge leather/plastic matts, but Elite Keyboards no longer carries any of their stuff.

Was great for holding my desktop back when I have one and now it holds my two UPS systems off the ground. Highly recommended

Here to blow my own horn.

So I went today to buy a Numerar table top (basically the Gallant conference table without the legs or cable cutout) and I was told by the Ikea associate that the entire East Coast is out of Numerar's until at least Oct 15th. I really wanted to get this desk, but 6 weeks seems like I could figure something to work out that was similar.

I am looking for a large top to place over a pair of half-hight filing cabinets.

Do any goons have ideas or suggestions?

Ikea makes the KNÖS, and the PRÖJS, but they don't ship them. Caveat emptor: The KNÖS has metal in it which blocks wireless keyboards and mice, and the PRÖJS isn't all that slick unless you spray silicone on it.

It's great, I screwed it to the underside of my generic non-IKEA plywood/veneer desk and even then it works perfectly.

It is a bit flimsy. If you really want something built you can find any number of computer holders that will screw into the desk or clamp on, but they will cost you a lot more.

How would that work the corner desk? I don't really want in the middle were my legs hit it but I don't want it off to the side either.

Even it if was off to the side, would the cables even reach?

Go to the IKEA Kitchen section and check out their countertops. I got a butcher block style countertop and screwed the build-your-own desk legs into it and made a huge desk for cheap.

Yea, that's what I did in the first place. The Numerar is a countertop repurposed as ~22sqft of desktop bliss.

I think they are still in business? Website is still up and links to resellers. I liked the way it looked so I tried to look it up to purchase for myself. Found one place I think selling the XXXL size one I think that is pictured.

http://www.coolerguys.com/840556026471.html

I am a little hesitant, 30 is fine for the pad, but it's ten bucks for shipping via ups ground that that seems a bit much. Debating if I want to or not still. None of the other resellers seems to have that pad in stock.

edit: apparently this is a similar product that came out first, and is 30 or so shipped from Amazon : http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...&pf_rd_i=507846

I guess this is as good of a place to ask as any...

I've been trying to find a desk for my room, I don't have a ton of space to work with and have three pretty basic (or I think they are basic, but no desk seems to have them) requirements:

1) Black
2) Place to put my tower under the desk
3) Not made with lovely fiberboard

Bonus: Place to put my printer under the desk.

Any suggestions?

Brown stuff running down the walls? You mean behind the middle 5 monitors? Those are wooden planks that the monitors are mounted on.

Edit: I should probably point out that this is on an offshore survey vessel.

Bought a Galant with one of these when I moved into my Condo; I have a huge-rear end full tower desktop with water-cooling so it's super heavy and this thing holds it like a champ.

I've had several inquire asking the same thing. It's the volume control pod for my speakers, but it does look very similar to a 2pc grinder, minus the cord sticking out the back!

I have the standard pedals but they are absolutely terrible-the potentiometer on the brake pedal is completely out of whack and will never calibrate correctly. I've been waiting for a good deal on the clubsports...

How can you deal with the stiff rear end stock cable? I loving loathed that thing, it just had to go. I might have gone overboard with bling for the replacement

The amp is a Hifiman EF2. Fantastic synergy with the D2000s, inexpensive, and a built in USB DAC to top it all off. Highly recommended.
