I'm more or less hoping all the DLC have fun and good BGM. More than the costume looks themselves, I like the change of BGM. The combat music doesn't change enough without it.

It's just the school and beach ones definitely confirmed so far. I assume the im@s ones are going to have music too... That's what it usually is, right? Legacy, im@s, and Zestiria had school costume music too. Caphi fucked around with this message at 23:36 on Jul 22, 2016 |

Oh yeah, then I hope someone gets Zaveid as their legacy costume so we can have Zaveid's theme as a battle BGM because it rocked. I know it's not going to happen.

At least the early teleport in Xillia makes it easier to compulsively check villages for sidequests after ever scene.

Speaking of music the Xillia soundtrack seems more subdued, outside of the usual selection of battle tunes, and not the usual Tales stuff and I like it.

I wonder if that's why they started doing the guitar version of the theme song for Abyss instead of replacing it with some generic fantasy track like they did for Eternia and Symphonia - because the tune was actually a key moment in the game.

Yay after years of thinking of trying to get a way to play the game, I have finally found someone to loan me their 360 so I can finally do Vesperia. I heard this is a game to play with a guide because of missables? Or is that another game?

There are a few but I think most of them expire at a few big obvious plot points and some of them are just side "what this NPC is doing" things that fit in a certain timeframe, instead of secrets. The big one I remember being real worried about last time was the Antlionz trader thing that you end up getting some unique equipment out of if you hit like six flags between acts? If you have a spoiler free guide it can't hurt, I'm sure.

The only thing wrong with Milla is that she's not the protagonist. I'm excited because Velvet hits a bunch of the same notes but is carrying her arc on her own instead of sharing it with a normal Tales boy.

This is nothing against Jude by the way because he is a good and bright kid.

Jude seems okay, I like that whenever Alvin tries to tease him about fancying Milla or liking older women he's just like 'haha yeah I guess so' instead of freaking out.
|
# ? Jul 24, 2016 05:11 |
|
Also Jude fully admits to having no idea what he's doing on this journey and actually grows to find one (Millia and then later Spyrix). Millia's the more heroic protaganist, but Jude's got the slightly better growth arc.

# ? Jul 24, 2016 05:28 |

Milla's almost the mentor type hero who would normally die to let Jude grow. Actually, she kinda did.

they've outright stated that velvet will be the sole main protagonist and she is the main protagonist because people like milla and westerners want more female protagonists. xillia was marketed with jude and milla as the dual leads from the beginning. he didn't slide into it or anything, that was the design from the outset.

Sophie spacing out and doing weird things like looking at flowers or chasing bugs around during serious scenes was a good thing and I hope Laphicet does the same thing when he's figuring out emotions. Or he could be like Amber, whatever.

Episode 4 of X: -Sparrowfeathers are a bit more active in helping Sorey inside the city, but only Rose talks. -Rose wants payment for the entry, and digs around Sorey's backpack for Alisha's dagger. She secretly recognizes the mark and hands it back, saying something about destiny owes her one. - Lunarre is a billion times more story relevant. Sorey chases him a bit, but ultimately Lunarre admits he was chasing Alisha out of fun and drops the mission, but warns them that the true assassins are still out there. He's just chilling around the city for the rest of the episode, dropping amusement reactions. -Cut to the Sparrowfeathers negotiating if they kill Alisha, with them being convinced by Barrows that killing her will save many lives because of Alisha's "don't do the first strike" policy for the war. That is their "honor." -Instead of a bunch of monsters that Sorey/Mikleo see among the citizens, a general smog cripples Mikleo that he has to take a breather. -Alisha gives a big speech to the crowd about her defensive war policy, but that only stirs the malevolence. -Instead of a few blobs and a random citizen werewolf, a big gently caress-off dragon appears out of goo and starts rampaging in the ladylake temple. -Rose comes out of the chaos and attempts to kill Alisha. Battle's good, but a little nerf on Rose's part that she can't kill Alisha with her single dagger. -Barrows scumbags Maltran into escorting the citizens out instead of helping Alisha. -Sorey jumps off the balcony to attempt to get the sword, and this is the first reunion between him and Alisha instead of meeting before the ceremony. -When Sorey accepts the Shepherd Burden, he immediately comes out of it in armatized fire mode, destroying the dragon goo.
