Purchased the Special Edition. I think I'm just a sucker for figures. If it weren't for that (And the fact that the figure itself goes for $50 used) I would've just bought the standard edition. Saving money and getting another Tales game in the process.

I'm hoping that they're going to update the collector's edition at some point, because not being able to get everything is dumb.

Oh, what?

I kind of wanted the collectors edition, mainly for the figure, but I kind of want a full soundtrack and DLC too.

Conflicted, though the normal release is cheaper and I could always get the figure via other methods.

Edit: Apparently the Collectors Edition in Europe has the full soundtrack and DLC According to the announcement? Why would Namdai gimp the US release?
Edit 2: Looking at the promotional images, the CD looks identical in both the Collectors and Limited edition. Though the text on the cover looks different even if it is barely noticeable.

Apparently there was an email sent out that clarifies that the music cd in both special versions of Xillia is the same, as well as the DLC being included with both versions. The art book is still exclusive to the collector's edition, and the "character profile booklet" is exclusive to the limited edition. I'm guessing the latter is a gimped version of the former?

The nice thing about this video, too, is I don't think it uses any DLC costumes or attachments. All these are available in-game. The mecha Sophie attachment, and the Yuri, Jude and Milla dolls are all ones you get for having saves from ToGF, ToV and ToX on your PS3 when you start the game.

They'll give us those Vesperia bonuses through DLC won't they?

Right? I mean, its not like we'll be able to obtain them normally. Unless they count Japanese ToV saves.

Okay, so the website for Xillia 1 is confusing the hell out of me.

quote:

Two Heroes – Choose one of two distinct heroes: Jude Mathis, a medical student or Milla Maxwell, a mysterious woman accompanied by the Four Great Spirits, and experience the story from their unique point of view

What the hell does this mean? Its almost as if its saying "You can play as one of these characters but not the other" even though that's clearly not true seeing as this is a Tales game.

Cruelly dull, you mean.

Only Future Arc was annoying and that only had four new dungeons to its name, with retreads of two of them (Though said retreads had new enemies and the latter one had a whole extra area tacked onto the end for the purpose of items).

And I actually didn't care so much about those, I mainly wanted the Geass costumes and Haseo, with those they had NO excuse, not even in Europe. Also, are they done with the DLC for Xillia? Ah, right. Star Driver was owned by Bandai in the US but I guess since they sort of evaporated the licenses all had to go elsewhere.

And naturally now if they wanted to get the stuff for ToX2 they would need to get both Funimation and Aniplex to agree to allow the use of things they have the licenses for over here. Naturally Namco doesn't want to put forth effort for such minor DLC, but its still kind of a downer.

Though when Graces f came out there was no valid excuse for the stuff they cut save for Miku and maybe Toro.

The thing that irritated me the most about Xillia was how little you get to know or spend time on Elympios. In previous Tales games with two worlds, you generally could get a feel for both worlds and what's happening to them and you learn to care for it (I suppose). But the way Xillia handled Elympios kinda irritated me. You spend so little time on it that you canny even care for it. I kind of felt cheated by that and I felt like the game progression was very odd and not done well. The more I think about the game, the less I like it. I wonder if Xillia 2 expounds upon the end of 1 or if it just ignores all of it and has it's own plot line.

Honestly I feel this is more because the game got rushed than anything else. Looking at the map for Elympios it feels like there was supposed to be a little more at least, like two or three cities and another dungeon but instead you get Trigleph, Helioborg Fortress, the Tatalian Abyss and two highroads and that's it, you're at the end. I believe Xillia 2 does flesh out Elympios a bit more as all the main characters seem to have migrated there going by what I've seen.
