They managed to correct some stuff today. Late night is no longer TBA and is marked as new, but they are missing OAD so OnePass won't pick them up automatically. But hey, at least I can actually see them to set for record.

CC still has "Comedy Central Programming" in the Daily Show/@Midnight slot for all of next week (although strangely tonight and tomorrow are correct). Is there a command to make the Tivo refresh its listings somewhere in the menu?

Twerk from Home posted:Apparently the Plex DVR is getting program guide information from Gracenote, but a lifetime Plex Pass license ($150) plus a computer capable of storing / hosting plex ($300 minimum optimistically) and one of the TV tuners from the only product line that Plex DVR supports ($100) comes out more expensive than a Roamio OTA and is still more complex to use. TiVo is an absolutely fabulous OTA recording device with tons of storage, 4 tuners, a great remote and interface with Netflix, Amazon Instant, Hulu and YouTube. The upfront cost is admittedly expensive but if you are cutting the cord because it is a waste of money and not because you are broke absolutely buy a Roamio OTA right now, it is so worth the money if you have a good antenna signal. I'm curious if they might lower the cost a bit now that they own the guide data.

I don't have a detailed description, but they are at least marked as new and have the correct OAD so onepass is picking them up.

That fixed up all the errors I had spotted so far, thanks.

Sorta crosspost from HTPC thread: My 2009 vintage AMD-based Dell desktop I've been using as my HTPC has finally given up the ghost. I use it pretty much exclusively as a Plex client, streaming from a transcoding Ivy Bridge i7 desktop serving as a Plex server. I also do some Prime streaming. I went and priced out building a replacement, but building something modern and cheap is going to be a few hundred dollars (has Windows always cost $100?!) So now I'm looking at a different streaming box. We watch stuff over the air, and have no cable subscription. We use Netflix, Plex, and Amazon Instant. My wife would appreciate a DVR. I'm now considering a Roamio. Anything else that I might be missing?

Nope, the Roamio has Plex, Netflix and Amazon Instant with a DVR, you are good to go.

Does anyone have a bolt? How's the app response time? The roamio is still the slowest at Netflix etc. if it's better I would think about getting a bolt, otherwise I think I'm going to grab one of those new rokus

I do. App response time is pretty good. One pro over the roku is TiVo will actually pass through native 24p.

I might go for it then, move the roamio to the bedroom and retire the premiere 4 that already had to be rescued with a replacement fan.

No HDR though, yet or announced even. Roku ultra or whatever the new one is called it is, I guess.

Using a Bolt. So this new guide service, is that the reason I'm getting duplicates recorded and old episodes? It's really loving annoying

Yup. It sucks and it's not improving.

Even before the guide switch, this was annoying but now that there is so much more generic programming info, it's even worse. I just wish there was a "skip generic program description" option in one pass, or that it wasn't such a pain in the rear end to set up the wish list workaround that skips them. I willing to go ahead and bet that Fox isn't showing new episodes of the Simpsons at 3:00 am on a Tuesday rather than have to go delete them from my to do list constantly.
