Not so much a "first time", more of a "I haven't played this game in years", but does anyone have anything to say about Chrono Cross?

Portfolio posted:I'm about to start Final Fantasy V Advance. I've never played the original or anything. This seems like a game that's probably been covered in this thread already, but please have mercy, this thread is huge Monks are awesome. Get your characters, even the ones you want to be mages, to use the Monk job for a while. Having a Black Mage that can punch things with the efficiency of a Monk is good. Also, don't worry too much about grinding for job points. There's a point near the middle of the game where it's really easy to stack up a lot of them with a Blue Mage, and then there's another part at the end of the game where a certain enemy group will give like 90JP per battle or something like that. There's a bug that allows you to always encounter them after one fight, too. I'm about to start playing Skies of Arcadia (Legends version on the GameCube if that matters). Any tips?

Return to Sender posted:This. Along these lines, avoid the PSP Katamari game. It's not as good.

The Capm posted:You know, it isn't as good, no, but it's not a bad game or anything and it's a lot better than the iphone version. If you want katamari on the go, the psp version isn't a bad choice. I would still say it's an alright game, sure. But the analog stick controls work so well on the console version, so having to use the face buttons on the PSP made it a little less enjoyable.

It's been forever since I last played it and barely remember anything besides liking it, any tips before I give it another go? Pyrocat made a nice post about this game for me a few pages back: http://forums.somethingawful.com/sh...8#post362755839

Twitch posted:And anything I need to know about the Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker? I just beat the first real dungeon, and I think I have the game down okay, but from glancing at an FAQ there's no way I'm going to bother with a lot of the sidequests, but if there's anything I definitely should do, it'd be good to know. The most important thing is to learn the Ballad of Gales immediately after getting the bow and arrows. It allows you to teleport to certain points on the Great Sea and cuts down your sea travel time a lot. ![]() Wind Waker isn't that hard, so if you don't want to do the side quests, it's okay. I would reccomend that you try to find all of the Great Fairies for bomb/arrow/magic upgrades, though. If you do nothing else, look up where to get the Rupee wallet upgrades because you're going to need space for a lot of rupees later on. There's one part of Wind Waker that everyone gets pissed off at later on, it's basically a fetch quest. Just tough it out, the end of the game is great.
