How easily could I revert back to stock speedo? As long as it runs and it's reliable it's not a big deal to me, it's gonna be my first bike so I have to learn.

I was commuting on the SV so it was practical and comfy, now no longer commuting on the bike, so I just want to get a toy. My budget is around $5000. Honestly, I've ridden a few I4 600s and I'm just really in love with that top end scream. I rode a vtwin for 2 seasons and I got really bored of how predictable and steady the torque was. I like some of the Aprilias but there is a huge price premium in general. There's also really nothing available locally, kind of makes me worry about parts as well.

Yeah, you definitely have to be careful here, I've seen a ton of thrashed up bikes. The big powerful twins are not too common here, just because the i4 bikes are so cheap and easily obtained. I honestly probably can't afford an Aprilia, I like the japanese bikes because they're cheap and easy to work on, tons of easily obtained knowledge.

So trying to buy a Speed Triple, have a few picked out: http://baltimore.craigslist.org/mcy/4009958644.html I really like this one, the matte black is sick and it's really clean, never been dropped, no scratches, etc. The seller seems like kind of a jerk and wasn't willing to talk price at all at first. I got him down to $7500 after a bit of talking, but price still seems a bit high. Bike is located about 3 hours away. http://www.cycletrader.com/listing/2009-Triumph-Speed-Triple-1050-111008750 I like this one too, but the owner sent me photos that show slight rashing on the clutch cover and a few tank scratches and told me that it fell over in the parking lot. They have all the documentation with it, it's a pretty clean bike, otherwise. I like the orange, but really prefer the matte black though.

I'm pretty confused as to how the buying process actually works. I live in PA and the bike is located in MD, what do I need to do? I've looked around on the MD and PA DMV sites and it's pretty confusing. I can't trailer the bike back to PA, so I'd probably need to ride it, and the bike is being sold private party, so I'm not sure how I'd get temp tags for it? I have a tag from my old bike, but it's obviously not registered to the new one, so it seems kind of dumb to ride that a couple hundred miles, but that's what people are telling me to do.
