Raluek posted:There's no way that's the original frame, is there? People lengthen and shorten and widen and do this and that to those things all the time, so I'm sure a custom frame (especially since he's got no fenders in the front) would alleviate any clearance issues. But if that's stock... If a 4.0L straight six can fit in there, I don't know why an 8.0L V10 wouldn't be able to.

That's true, especially with no fenders so the turbos can just hang out wherever is convenient. I hadn't thought of it that way. I've seen lengthened ones for stuff like BBCs, I think, but my memory is probably failing me. In any case, this poo poo is rad.

I recall one getting a feature in either Four Wheeler or Petersen's. Every one of those I've seen look stock from the outside pictures.

Well I guess I just didn't think about the comparative lengths of the V10 vs the I6, so it makes sense. Durp. Ignore me then

I think they just removed the fenders for the purpose of photography. It looks like the original frame (it looks identical to mine), but I have no doubt that there are some significant modifications just to get everything mated up properly. Having read some of the hardcore Jeep threads on Pirate4x4, nothing truly surprises me anymore. ![]() Of course I would want to use it offroad, which makes me wonder whether the turbos would do any good at all in most situations.

Pilsner posted:Washing the car in heavy rain is actually pretty smart, if you can stand getting wet. The rain will wash away all the initial dust, and afterwards it'll wash away the soap, without you having to remove it, as there's no calcite in the rain water that would otherwise end up drying and leaving strips on the car. Rain is filthy, it pulls all the pollution and crap out of the air and leaves deposits all over your car.

I want to scream photoshop because I have no idea how a car gets like that, and because nothing reflected in the rear window is perpendicular with the ground and the passenger rear tire still looks like it's under load. If not, how the gently caress did that happen.

I would guess that the car started wobbling and going a bit sideways when the STOCK SUSPENSION!! did its thing.

It was taken from Japlotnic and the story goes that it was taking part in a wheelie competition. When it passed the reviewing stands, still on it's rear wheels, the gusting wind caught it and sent it over.

devnull420 posted:This just makes me cringe, even if it was washed out really well. You can't really wash it out well enough. The plastic is porous and oil will be pretty permanently soaked in. That said, you could drink motor oil with no ill effects(besides the taste and probably horrible runs). It's carcinogenic though, so you might get cancer after years of drinking it. I don't think that someone who's willing to smoke out of an oil bottle pipe is concerned with their long term health.

It's filled with 5w30, not water, so the smoke bubbles up through it and some of the cannabinoids bind to the oil. I'm going to put a few liters through and then run the cannaoil in my wagon so when it leaks and drips on the turbo heat shield I won't get so stressed out about it.
