When posting tracklists, how do you guys determine how to write the tracks, like in what order the info is spelled out? jonmitz for example does Title - Mix - Artist while many others do Artist - Title - Mix... Is there a specific reason behind that, like the program used to make the mix or something? Or maybe something like focus on track vs focus on artist? Is it a conscious decision at all?

As soon as I see the name Peppelino in a mix, I'm grabbing it. edit: enjoyed it greatly, thank you! wayfinder fucked around with this message at 09:30 on Jan 27, 2009 |

JohnnyRed posted:Dude you have no idea my mad scientist masterpiece in the works. I've been obsessed with Screw tapes, where he's playing hip-hop super loving slow. So I'm experimenting with that poo poo in all genres. I've been lots of stuff in the 130-140 range, slowed down, and it works GREAT. I'm mainly a hip-hop guy, so figure I've got a lot of tracks in my crates that are like 80 bpm! I did a radio show with slowed-down music some years ago, and there are a lot of tunes that really gain a lot from that treatment, many goa and schranz records sound just brutal at slower speeds.

Altoidss posted:Dunno if this is the right thread for this, but is there some sort of "DJ yellow pages" where you can look up who's playing at what club in a city in the coming days? My cousin and I are going around Europe for a month this summer and I'd like to be able to see who's playing that night when we're in, say, Madrid or Paris. Most European cities have free magazines with that kind of info, you can get them in cafés and so on. They'll be on the web too.

Um, I think he means he doesn't know how to do a cue file (there are plenty of generators and tutorials for that online)... How would a cut mp3 help him? Cutting out a track from a live set won't give you the full track anyway. The way I understand it is he wants to be able to skip/search tracks but everyone's reacting as if he complained that the unmixed versions weren't included.

Guys i did a set of my own stuff last night and it was amazing. I'd never DJed before, and first sat down with Traktor on Wednesday to prepare the tracks and start practising. Picked up the ways of the program over the rest of the week and then borrowed a friend's S4 controller and went to town. There was simply no transition period between controlling Traktor with a mouse and with the S4. I'm so close to buying my own . A couple of spotty transitions but I kept the whole room dancing for 3 hours so I'm very happy. Nobody told me how physically exhausting this poo poo is! I admit I was hopping around and flialing my arms a lot, with a huge stupid grin on my face. I wish I'd gotten around to learning how to record a mix from Traktor though, I have no recording now But that's okay, I have my memories
