I'm looking for some cheesy sounding spacey keyboard/synth music to chillout to. Here's some stuff I found youtube that I liked: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aDgXtbI1sJM http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_f7bp645Bsg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CRcvh4aV9qU I like to listen to this kind of stuff and PONDER THE COSMOS. burzum karaoke fucked around with this message at 14:31 on May 3, 2009 |

guppy posted:Have you hheard Ratatat? I like Ratatat, but it's really not what I'm looking for. I edited my post with some links since I was kinda vague. I don't really have an extensive nomenclature when it comes to sub genres of electronic music, I guess I'm looking for more of a new wave sound.

Cyne posted:Ashra - New Age of Earth I liked Oxygene and I know the stuff you linked is obviously of the same genre, but none of it is as heavy, melodic or epic sounding as Cyril Sneer said ^^^ The song that really got me looking for this kind of music was Windir's Journey to the End: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4DOPkHrW5bA. It may not be initially obvious, but the intro and outro are both extremely similar to the Michael Garrison stuff I posted. Jump to 3:35 to see what I mean. Cyril Sneer posted:Listen to "Aeons", off The Presets' new album The Apocalypso - its exactly what you're looking for - too bad its only one song. This is pretty cool. burzum karaoke fucked around with this message at 17:55 on May 6, 2009 |

I'm looking for something similar to Fever Ray/The Knife/Zola Jesus/Tearist. Electronic music, (preferably) female vocals and a healthy amount of eccentricity. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=stjF2txQ8II

None of those suggestions really resonated with me, but I found Blouse and Nurses through related videos, so thanks.

I'm looking for some sort of nihilistic post-rock cowboy blues with a lot of slow, whining pedal steel guitar.

I've been a big fan of Tangerine Dream's early material for a while, but I'm sort of at a loss as to where to approach their 80s material from. What albums of theirs embrace the sound they had on the Risky Business soundtrack? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=91DuxjzlLLU

I'm looking for some 80s new wave/pop with an emphasis on gross drum machines. Bonus points if it has world instruments. I can't get enough of that. Wanna lay some Linndrums over marimbas and wood flutes? Let's do this! Timpanis and analog synths? YUP!! Anything similar to early 80s Genesis, Shriekback, Wangchung, the Manhunter soundtrack, etc. is welcome.
