Does anyone have any artist / album recommendations for music similar to (for example) - Lux Aeterna from Requiem For A Dream? Or something like E. S. Posthumus? Basically 'epic violin' music. Anything being backed up with drums / guitars is cool too, but I'm not really talking about symphonic rock or metal (so not Nightwish, Within Temptation and so on).

If anyone knows anything similar to Grey Waters - Say Goodbye I'd be pretty much indebted to you forever. Big heavy guitars and big heavy atmospheres. Bonus points if there's no growling but I can handle a little I guess.
