I really hope they don't pull stupid poo poo like STEALTH VOLTRON from the terrible 3D Remake of the show.

Just from the way Matty isn't talking about the new Voltron toy line AT ALL, I'm pretty sure this year is gonna be the last Voltron stuff we get, unless it sells like gangbusters. I'm not counting on that happening

Nerd Of Prey posted:

I was a HUGE Voltron fan as a kid but I don't understand the appeal of this new one at all. It doesn't look very good and the gimmicky play features are annoying.

Totally with ya. Like I've said before, I'm 95% this line was intended as a brick and mortar store release, but had to get repackaged as a 'collector's item' once the Voltron movie got killed off. When you compare this Voltron to stuff you find at Wal-Mart, it makes a lot more sense as a toy design, hunkered down with dumb gimmick no collector cares about

Yeah, there's no other explanation for "auto-morph Lion's feet" and other such dumb gimmicks. I'm sitll getting it though because, y'know, 2 foot tall Voltron.

In other news, I don't know if anyone here collects Macross related items, but gently caress Bandai. See this here? http://www.hlj.com/product/BAN975641

Looks pretty cool right? A little pricey, but i'd definitely love to get it.

Unfortunately, Bandai made such limited stock that the pre-orders sold out in less than 5 minutes - at every single e-tailer where it's shown up for sale.

This is insane, i'm not paying $400 for this on Ebay. gently caress Bandai, and gently caress them for apparently taking business lessons from Mattel.

The original video where they showed off the action features was terrible. You use the key to unlock one thing but they tried to make it look like you needed the key for everything when they were really just pushing buttons with it.

This is happening with everything apparently. Takara-Tomy shorted every product line for 2012; I tried to buy an Encore Soundblaster but no US retailer carried enough, and this toy is something that was designed in 1977 for gently caress's sake. Of course eBay wants both my arms for it.

Woop woop found the new wave of Marvel Legends at TRU today. I don't mean the Terrax wave, I mean the next wave, the Arnim Zola wave. They didn't have many of them, but I did grab Madame Hydra. They're a couple bucks more expensive than Target has ML stuff for, but I think it's worth it to save me the hassle of hunting all over town for them.

I found Piledriver, Cap, Drax, and Madame Hydra.

Besides coming out to 80 bucks, they are really awesome.

I bought a couple of the toys from the new 3.75" Avengers line today. I know they're not really geared towards the ADULT COLLECTOR audience, but these things are so lovely. They've got 90's articulation, awful paint apps and extra gimmicky action features. I kind of expected something better than McDonald's Happy Meal quality in a toy that's in the $8-9 price range.

No pics but the first Voltron figure set came in yesterday, Lance and the red lion. Lance looks good, neat box, good figure but the giant cat.

Red and grey plastic, looks like cheap loving poo poo. The case, not that it matters as i'll take it out to form the big figure but it's just clear plastic all around, like it's missing crap. Super disappointed so far.

Yes.

But it's really not that bad. Any shortcomings are negated by how big it is. I wasn't expecting it to be that huge, and the completed Voltron is going to be titanic. That's what makes it worth the money

Well we received our case of Legends and I must say I am impressed, these new figures are gorgeous. Sadly we have so many requests for them I'm going to have to let customers have first dibs. I did find a Thor at Target so I'm partially satisfied.

That reminds, why are there no proper Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 figures? I know there's mini-mates, but there were full figures for MvC 2. I wish they made them for this game too.

MGS REX at Sideshow; I'm not huge on the MG series (played 2 but that's it), but that is an amazing piece of work.

There's also gonna be a new sixth scale Snake Eyes going up next week. I got the original one and I love him, but the Prometheus 1.0 body just doesn't hold a candle to the newer ones and I'll be happy to have an update version.

Did they ever release those GI Joe figures where they had the motorbike armor?

Saw some avengers toys with armor at wal mart this week and remembered those guys.

Last I heard, they'd been re-slotted as Ross exclusives, which means it's impossible to know if/when/where they'll show up.

Well, poo poo.

That was pretty much the biggest thing I was looking forward to. I had some toys that had that when I was a kid, and it was awesome. Haven't seen anything like it in probably nearly 25-30 years.

What's the price on em? Maybe I can do a cost+shipping+finders fee for someone.

I saw the new Marvel Legends for the first time in the UK today at Toys r Us, £15 is a bit steep but it's better than what you'd pay at Forbidden Planet or wherever. Hopefully we'll get wave 2 over here as well as I really want a Fantomex.

That's actually not a bad idea. There's quite a few I'd have loved to have, but was unable to fathom the idea of $100+ for LEGO.
