It came from the local classifieds. Only $45!![]() ![]() Seriously though, the dude is pretty cool. Lorcin Seller posted:A Lorcin .380 pistol with several improvements made to it. For one, several key operating componants have been disposed of, namely the firing pin and some other internals. The slide was welded ( as best as my expert TIG welder could, seriously!) to the frame. The weld looks so terrible because my welding guy says that the material had too much zinc in it, I trust that guy implicitly and it makes a lot of sense that Lorcin would not limit there cheapness to just the design elements. The barrel was back filled with orange epoxy. The magazine was filled with rounds with the primer and powder removed. In short, this new creation is dubbed the Pimpmaster .380. A perfect prop gun or conversation peice. I am selling this face to face in WA state for $45. Just a copy of your WDL is required as this is probably still considered a firearm, though I don't know why the hell it would be Sixgun Strumpet fucked around with this message at Jul 23, 2012 around 18:40 |

Somewhere around here I have a "Gun owner's repair and restoration guide" printed in the 70's. The author recommends an electropencil as "one of the most useful things a gun owner can have". Second only to a rotary tool. The milsurp "restoration" chapter is...chilling.

People do this with valuable cameras too. At least they are nice enough to put it on the inside of the film chamber where you can't see it though.

BATFE posted:The Gun Control Act (GCA) of 1968 states: “It shall be unlawful for any person knowingly to transport, ship, or receive, in interstate or foreign commerce, any firearm which has had the importer’s or manufacturer’s serial number, removed, obliterated, or altered or to possess or receive any firearm which has had the importer’s or manufacturer’s serial number removed, obliterated, or altered and has, at any time, been shipped or transported in interstate or foreign commerce.” [18 U.S.C. 922(k)]. So is this legal to sell? to own?

Not Nipsy Russell posted:Is a problem because.. I'm pretty sure that so long as it is serialed still, there won't be an issue. Century IIRC reuses the serial numbers on the firearm when they stamp them. I could be wrong, but if this wasn't true you wouldn't be able to rebarrel anything with a serial on the barrel, which obviously isn't the case. edit for clarity: It says serial number, not import stamp. As long as the proper serial is still on the "firearm" (receiver) than it will be fine. That said, it's still pretty dumb to do. It's legal to remove the import mark (the name and city/state of the importer). Here's a relevant ATF letter. It's not legal to remove an importer's serial number. For example, some imported firearms have serial numbers that use characters other than characters in the English alphabet and/or Arabic numerals. If this is the case, then the ATF makes the importer mark another serial upon importation, and it would be illegal to remove that serial number too.

I don't even know what the gently caress. Is it a pistol grip? But it's so far back. Is it for a benchrester to grip with the forend rested? But it's too far forward. Maybe? Not to mention - the distance between the "pistol grip" and the neck of the stock is too wide to use the pistol grip, but too narrow to fit 2 hands. Shooting this rifle that way would be like driving your car with hands on the wheel at 2:00 and 2:15.

If anybody's got the cheddar, here's a link to an auction for an awesome Behlert custom 29-2 S&W revolver. It's got a pair of barrels, one 3", and one about 2.5", both magna-ported, and one smooth and one spurred hammer, and the whole thing's in a custom box and has custom grips. Bid's around $1300 right now. I have a Behlert Model 57, and it's dreeeeeamy. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Interesting note, the current high bidder is also the guy that runs the most informative Austin Behlert website I've found, and has a huge collection of his guns, which he's been slowly selling on Gunbroker and off his gunshop's website, too.
