Yeah, they need a name-check there. If you go to the Spaceballs page, it says, "A Claridge Hi-Tech pistol was seen in the pistol holster of Col. Sandurz onboard Spaceball One."

I can remember the tail-end of the fall of the Berlin Wall. Like the October, 1990 fall. I was either too young or not alive for the rest of it.

On the other hand, I felt old when someone mentioned that they couldn't remember Diablo II coming out and the SNES was, in their opinion, a "retro" console. My friend's younger brother didn't believe me that there was an AWB at all. Music from my childhood is being played on Oldies station

When you were born, I was being yelled at by my mom to stop watching Desert Storm coverage on CNN all day. And if you were born later in the year, I was feeling sad that the war was over and we weren't blowing stuff up anymore.

A year later and I was up late with my dad, watching the Marines landing in Somalia.

I ask myself every time I go to the gunshows here. There is a dealer who always has a special "Linda" display, complete with a poster of a very very late 80's looking woman holding one. Sort of Oleg Volk circa 1989.

It's like the guy got suckered into being a dealer for them 20 years ago and has been doing his damnedest to offload them ever since. I haven't really wanted to ask him why the hell he sells them.

I think it looks cool in its own retarded way- like a space gun out of a science fiction b-movie from the the 1970ies. I can totally picture Buck Rogers or some other spandex-clad shoulder-padded space-hero busting some swamp aliens with this thing.

This is the correct answer and I'm glad we can both appreciate crappy post-Star Wars B-movie science fiction aesthetics.

11/9/89 is the historically marked "Fall" but the actual Wall wasn't completely dismantled until the following year.
