Tell me about it. I remember going over to my buddy's place in elementary school and scheming up ways to play pranks on his then 5 or 6 year old sister. She's now 24, out of college, and ridiculously hot.

I have one box of 7.7 Arisaka.

I have the sudden urge to buy some steel helmets and put them on an upright swinging apparatus and use them as targets.

Aside from helmets with any kind of historical value, can you pick up cheap steel(whatever) helmets online?

Aren't there like a skrabillion M-1 helmets out there?

You know you can filter results by category, right?

Yes, because every seller on Gunbroker makes sure they list their crappy items in the right category.

quote:

Upon the auction block we have a 1942 Mauser K-98 Israeli surplus that is unissued, so we Parkerized the rifle, and deep sixed the wooden stock, and replaced it with a Choate 5 round top loading magazine, synthetic that I personally camouflaged, and stuck it in the warehouse vault, so it is still in unfired condition from the armory in Israel.

I... I have no words. Except maybe "why?" I'm tempted to e-mail the seller and ask "what the hell is wrong with you?"

I'm just loving loving the very idea of an "unfired" Israeli Mauser.

a) I'm pretty sure it was fired sometime between 1942 and Israel getting it.

b) I'm pretty sure the Israelis fired it at some point.

As for the repark etc - a bunch of those came through with utterly garbage stocks and some really bad rust. I'm guessing it was one of those, and they just polished the gently caress out of the inside of hte barrel to make it shiny and are saying it's "arsenal unfired" since they themselves never fired it. Throw some park on to cover the rust, put in a new stock, and try to sell it as a tactical rifle while saying ISRAELI over and over.

I mean, gently caress, just look at the wear pattern on that bolt.

Christ I hope so.

There are OIF/OEF reenactors.

So how many boxes of Winchester white box do you guys think he'll take in exchange for it?

I kinda miss my assault pack. Maybe we can do a group buy, a bunch of us can get some for cheap, and then sell the rest to recoup our losses.
