I have been filled with love for the Neos again, but I'm still really interested in the Hammerli Trailside. I want to put this to an informal vote. Neos or Trailside? I'll count the first 11 voters (to ensure no tie) and that is what I will buy as soon as I have the money saved up. If you want to participate, post as normal and at the end say "I vote for [Neos or Trailside]." Votes for Hi(gh)-standard, Ruger, Browning don't count.

Quick Edit: I'll post plenty of pictures of the gun, targets I shoot (I'm an ok target shooter), videos at the range, takedown etc... in a box thread of whichever gun is voted, as a reward for your help. I will purchase the gun within 3 months, and take it out to the range asap after that (Thread will appear no more than 4 months from now). This is a promise.

Votes so far:
UPDATE March 1th 11:57 AM
SadWhaleFamily : *Neos*
Chill_Bebop : *Neos*
Nofeed : *Neos*
G Money : +Trailside+
The Rat : +Trailside+
DocPsychosis : +Trailside+
Black Stormy : +Trailside+
Kuga : +Trailside+

! 1 ! more trailside vote will totally close this off! It's looking like Trailside is rallying in the final lap for the win.

If I don't get a majority vote of 6 in a week or two... I don't know what I'll do. I guess I'll default to the current majority, close voting and do my box thread before July (the four month deadline). In case of a tie, Neos wins because it's easier on the wallet. I reserve the right to substitute a X-Esse if I want because I can buy it new and it's the same gun with different markings (or so I hear).

Trailside Target 4.5 in barrel with wood grips.

I will buy a trailside if it gets the votes (which looks like it may be the case), but I don't want the small barrel. Wood grips on the other hand, I may look into something custom down the road. Not sure how I feel about the swirly colored wood grips some of them have (I think it's wood anyway, looks like it in pictures).

Edit : This motherfucker right here really makes me want to reconsider my policy of buying the 6 inch. New in box is really hard to find on this particular gun, and I'd love to have it brand new.

Bass Pro Shop in Harrisburg, PA has a Hi-standard field king in stock http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/s...31&mode=viewGun

Just posting if anyone is interested.

What national sporting goods chains sell handguns besides Cabela's and Gander Mountain? I'm researching who has a brand new Trailside in anticipation of its victory, and they both have a few 4.5" barrels hanging around new in the box. I'd like to get ahold of Bass Pro Shops and any other national chain to see if they've got some of the long barrel versions still hanging around.

Alright, since it's one vote away and I haven't voted yet in my own poll, I'm voting Trailside for the win.

Three reasons :

One: Nobody has been vocal about personal experiences with them, so I could expand everyone's knowledge on them a little bit.

Two: I found one for super cheap, it's brand new and 6".

Three:Enough people already have the Beretta, so plenty of opinions already exist on that particular gun.

So congratulations to everyone who voted Trailside!

What does everyone tend to shoot when they want to fire standard velocity .22LR and not break the bank? I'm open to any suggestions as long as it is standard velocity and below, let's say 30-40 bucks for a 550 brick. Additional bonus points for an online distributor where I can purchase it.

Son of a BITCH. I just looked on gunbroker today because I wondered where all the .22LR rounds might be going. Motherfuckers are selling 1000 rnds of Sk Standard Plus (calling it Wolf Match Target, but it's not in the wolf boxes so why even call it that?) for $131.

Ninja edit : Also selling boxes of cheap Federal High Velocity as "JHP" Goddamn Obamarama

I'm thinking about backordering some Wolf Match Target on J and G sales. Is this a reputable website that I should feel good about ordering from?

SK Standard plus rounds (aka Wolf match target in the US) for sale at AIM surplus.

$4.95 a box until you hit 10 boxes when it becomes
$4.65 a box plus shipping (not expensive shipping either)

Stealth edit: Ever since I posted the little poll for buying a Trailside or a Nintendo Zapper Beretta Neos, I have been trying to find a brand new Trailside. As of this writing, my Trailside is sitting in my local Gander Mountain, nearly unfired condition for $300. The whole story will be revealed in the box thread. Stay tuned.

Natchez Shooter's Supply has almost all types of Aguilla in stock right now. I'm getting some standard velocity and some match pistol.

Also, I told them to notify me by email whenever Aguilla came back in stock and received no email. Super cool!

Do any of you guys use snap caps, and if so, what brand/model do you use? I haven't seen much out there with a good rating for .22 lr. Also, there's a box thread on the way

crosspostin' this

I asked a question in my last entry on that thread about cross hair optics. I was wondering what was out there dot-sight-wise that actually had crosshair styling. So, what I'm looking for is an adjustable optic that has cross-hairs; that sentence got a little out of hand.
