I must be tired. I looked at this post on the ROH forum and I was about to click back without even posting it here. It was too long of a day to read poo poo like this, but, this... this is ROHbot.txt

ln586856 posted:

If the E takes him I will be upset. ROH, CAN YOU PLEASE sign your talent to yearly contracts? Please? I am upset because I watch the product and grow to love certain wrestlers, follow them, and then too suddenly they disappear before they had their chance to bloom (I am talking about Tyler here, nobody else.)

Another post cited PWInsider where the E basically acknowledged that they are raiding ROH's talent. It is totally not fair. I know these guys deserve their chance at the "big stage," whatever that means (I despise the E, sorry but that is my opinion) but if ROH will always be on the E's radar "so long as they are on Monday nights" then seriously, what is the point?

I hate the E for doing this. It is like not even giving ROH's top shelf the chance to do anything special, because as soon as someone gets over (becomes "WWE worthy," please...give me a break) then they'll be gone in a flash for the money. That in my judgment is selling out.

Tyler, bro, if your out there please don't sell out. He has potential, but he hasn't even utilized it yet in the ROH top shelf. Why sell out before that happens?

My overall point is this: what is the sense of watching ROH and caring about its success as a company and a family of talent when anyone can get bought out on such short notice. I am NOT going to watch a breeding ground for the E. Nope, sorry. I want to care about ROH, see ROH succeed as ROH with ITS own talent.

This is bs and I am so upset. I hate the E for doing this. Total monopolization of the market. ROH has to contract its talent for longer terms; for heaven's sake contract the Wolves and Tyler for a year. Otherwise there was no point in their builds for the past year. Anybody out there with me on this, or no?

He raises a good point, though, why take on a new job with the dominant global force in your chosen profession where you will get the chance to work a safer style and perhaps capture enough attention at that national level to gain the chance to make a tremendous amount of money and be seen by more people in a week than you could hope to in a year otherwise?

I mean, that's just selling out!

The worst thing ROHbots do isn't , it's THE E.

Also that guy is great because he's acting like Danielson and Nigel just got to the main event after meandering around in the midcard since 2002. Danielson was a goddamn main eventer from DAY ONE.

They have on the main page of their site how great it is Nigel and Dragon are leaving to go to WWE. Are they serious? Yeah I know were all happy for them to make six figures and everything but this is so lame. It seems like they are hand delivering them to Vince. I thought ROH wanted to compete with them and ROH is what wrestling fans wants to see.

I thought ROH was the alternative? Not the minor league feeding system to WWE. Why not go the ECW route and blast the two of them for leaving and elevate Tyler,King,Omega,Generico,Davey at their expense? Than have those guys cut promos saying they sent them packing.

You guys can blast me all you want but it is crap like this that I have not been interested in ROH in almost two years. I don't really care how they handle it ROH is so watered down it is ridiculous.

Edit: I should also say that the vast majority of replies are mocking these people. Here is one:

quote:

So we should "protect" from the millions he could make in the WWE? You're being selfish. Grow up. Also it's not like the WWE is stealing these guys. I bet you anything if you asked them what there dreams were when they were kids it was to be in the WWE, wrestle in Madison Square Garden, headline Wrestlemania. If it was up to you they would never have a chance to do these things.

On the topic, does anybody else think that Tyler looks too much like Punk to get signed by WWE? I know it's messed up but it may be true.

Hmmm, so it makes me a mark or fanboy because I am pissed to see a company, which is already established, raid a company struggling to establish itself?

It's selfish to want to see ROH succeed on its own terms, using its own talent? Please. Spare me the drama. Oh, and grow a vagina? Right. The only mark is somebody who thinks that it is ROH's job to breed talent for a multi-million dollar corporation that has no connection to the sport of professional wrestling that I grew up watching, and that many others grew up watching too.

And the snarky comments about reading Chomsky? Have you READ Chomsky? If you took seriously anything he wrote then you would second guess that wrestling for what, ideologically speaking, that E "corporation" promotes. So, yeah, mark, vagina, and Chomsky snide comments my rear end. The only fanboyism that I see on here happens to be E marks defending their precious Smackdown, or whatever that happens to be. We are lightyears away from my original argument, which incidentally no one here has addressed.

What of ROH and ITS own talent? Why let the E raid its roster? Again, the Insider said that they will be watching ROH's product and taking anyone "E worthwhile." And then what is left of ROH if that happens to be a significant part of their roster? What...put Ernie Osirus in the main event? You people need to get a clue.

I am passionate about the ROH "product"--dare I call it that, and I want to see ROH succeed with its own talent that won't jump ship at the first flash of the dollar. Spare me the talk about how these guys need to support families, or the insurance, etc etc. That isn't my point. If ROH is going to be its own company and retain its roster, and its own identity, then ROH has to fight off this bs and place their talent under contract so that we can follow the wrestlers, emotionally invest in them and their matches, and then not feel suddenly slighted when ROH turns out to be a revolving door or feeder to place that many of us feel is an insult to our intelligence. This tends to happen overnight (30 days notice?); and then ROH's build ups are wasted.

So I'll restate my point: what is the sense of watching ROH and caring about its success as a company and a family of talent when anyone can get bought out on such short notice. I am NOT going to watch a breeding ground for the E. Nope, sorry. I want to care about ROH, see ROH succeed as ROH with ITS own talent.

See ROH is a family. No one* should leave a family. That would kill the family unit.

Hell, I might start watching WWE regularly again if they keep signing people I give a poo poo about.

Punk was in for roughly a year, Hart Dynasty were there for what seemed like an eternity. Smith was even called up just so he could be suspended so WWE could prove their Wellness program was "real".

Yeah, which is fine when the talent in question is some lunkhead with no prior wrestling experience who got hired because of his body. But guys like Nigel and Danielson have been wrestling long enough that I don't think developmental would teach them anything they couldn't pick up on their own.

RAW was horrible last night. What happened? Why wasn't there a divas match? Mickie, Alicia, Gail and Beth were not even on the program? I was expecting a Barker's Beauties match or something. Where were The Miz, Carlito and Jack Swagger? Why were they not on the show? An Evan Bourne match without the Shooting Star Press?!? WHY DIDN”T WWE ANNOUNCE A DIVAS TITLE MATCH FOR THE PPV ON THE SHOW? WWE NEEDS TO BOOK MICKE VS GAIL VS BETH. I would order the PPV to see that match. Why did they waste 30 minutes, (it seemed like between 10:10 and 10:40 there was nothing but sit down interviews with Bob Barker or lame comedy skits? They could have added a match with anyone the people I mentioned in that lost time. The Price is RAW is the worst RAW I have seen in years.

Learning the WWE style is different though. Learning how to have an effective match in a 3-9 minute time period is pretty important in the WWE. They're gonna likely need to learn how to adapt to the new style.

Dragon learned that in Memphis when he had a developmental contract before, and I think Nigel spent time in Heartland Wrestling, so I think he'll be okay too. I agree that knowing how to work a good TV match is important, but I'm also saying that they probably know how to do that already.
