He was doing fine in WWE until they cut his legs out from under him during the Angle feud by having the move that makes him a monster be illegal(and having Angle win the rematches), then transitioned him from feuding with the hottest young heel in the company to the loving Big Bossman. Then he got hurt, and that was pretty much it for him.

Yeah, I distinctly remember Scott Keith saying "Whatever, I don't need the orange midget, I've got Benoit to watch now." I realize Keith isn't to be taken too seriously, but I imagine that was a common sentiment on the net, if not amongst casual fans.

When he was first in TNA, he and Dana White had talks about him coming to UFC. I believe talks broke down because Angle wanted to do both.
