Just wondering, at what point in a slide do you get back on the throttle? It seems like cracking the throttle while still crossed up would be a recipe for a high side, and that once the bike is tracking straight again is when you get on it.

I was referring to backing it in, the type of slide you start with a massive downshift. I also just started working on my bike and have a bunch of other work I still need to do, so I can't make it today.

I think all you do is take it to the police station and get them to certify it as street legal(DOT-legal headlight, brake light, plate light & bracket, turn signals if required), then once that's done you go to the DMV and get plates for it. The Nebraska DMV website should have more info. The only other issue is that it's a 2-stroke, So unless you bring the stuff to pre-mix with, you're kinda limited to one tank of gas per ride.

On my dirtbike, I always just grabbed the opposite side of the subframe under the fender and levered it up on the stand with my hip. But yeah, just lean it against the wall if it's in the way.

I think brake cleaner is basically the same thing(acetone) without any lubricants.

Just did a quick google, yeah, it's in brake cleaner and carb cleaner. Not sure in what percentage, but that and methyl ethyl ketone seem to be the primary cleaners in both. http://www.ehow.com/list_6029898_in...r-cleaners.html

Will they even have one there? the SMC isn't being imported to the US anymore as far as I know, so I don't think they'll be demoing a bike they don't sell.

While we're on the topic, the bike I'm working on was a street legal enduro in the 70's. I scraped off the sticker on the neck to repaint but kept it on a piece of cardboard. Will inspection require I have that sticker on there, or will it be fine to bring it in and show that the VIN matches?
