I wish this show wasn't on at 8:30, after Scrubs. It's much better than Scrubs.

I always catch the last minute when I tune in to Lost, and then I remember when it's on and have to hunt it down.

The only negative is that if it was not renewed, we would have gotten the other half of the first season burned off over the summer.

I wish there were more than 7 episodes. I think I've watched each one at least 3 times now.

gently caress me for knowing this, but the woman playing Linda's friend Rebecca is Rachelle Lefevre, the chick who just got fired from Twilight and replaced with Bryce Dallas Howard.
According to IMDB, she was in episode 2 also. I don't remember that.

So this comes back after Dancing With the Stars ends. Does anyone know when that is exactly? Is it this year or after the Olympics?

TMMadman posted:

According to my cable guide, it is actually a repeat of the second season opener.
There are two episodes on tomorrow (Friday), one new and one repeat.

For anyone recording it, the new one is right after the Rose Bowl coverage so I wouldn't be surprised if it started late.

It's funny how this show actually gets a pretty regular time schedule (except the weird Jan 1 one), but it's just on when nothing else is on.

Atticus Finch posted:

Finally, [Entertainment President Steve] McPherson couldn’t say whether the ratings-challenged Scrubs and Better Off Ted will survive to see another season. “I’m not going to lie,” he conceded. “The numbers are not encouraging.”

Another thing Sepinwall tweeted from the same session was:

quote:

Steve doubles back, again says he doesn't think Ted and Scrubs aren't compatible for Wednesday, "but comedy is comedy."

I'll assume the double negative is a mistake.

Linda joins the pilot of another show.
Yeah, Ted too, although I'm glad he's getting work:

quote:

Here's usually a pretty good indicator that a bubble show isn't likely to come back: Its star goes ahead and books a new pilot.

That's the case with "Better Off Ted" star Jay Harrington, who has been cast in the lead of NBC's comedy pilot "Nathan vs. Nurture."

Me and my roommate watched it religiously, and forced it down the throats of pretty much everyone we knew.

Being in Norway, though, I don't think anyone actually cared about our viewership.

I'm a bit shocked it even got shown in Norway.

It seems like any name that is more descriptive just sounds boring. Also, most shows have terrible names.

Better Off Ted really is the spiritual successor to Andy Richter Controls the Universe, except they modified Keith and made him the main character, which explains why it got canceled after two seasons instead of just one.

Now THAT is a show with a horrible name. Who would ever watch something called "Andy Richter Controls the Universe"?
