As for finding Demon's Souls easier, a good chunk of it is playing it second. The Souls games make you good at them and the skill is going to transfer over, and that part is going to show on bosses more than on stages. This a million times, I find Blighttown to be the easiest god drat thing because I did the Valley multiple times prior to it.

Hah, the Fool's Idol was actually one of the bosses that killed me. I've got terrible short term memory, and kept forgetting where her floor traps were. It does make sense that playing Dark Souls first made Demon's Souls a lot easier, not just in terms of combat skill, but also for not screwing your character up. On my first game of Dark Souls I put points into Resistance, and I split too much between Strength and Dexterity. In Demon's Souls I knew not to make those sorts of mistakes, so my damage output at the end of the game was way better than it was in Dark Souls.

actionjackson posted:That's pretty impressive, some of the bosses are pretty brutal in this game, specifically 2-2, 3-2 and 1-4. 2-2? That fire punching stomping man? I didn;t even get hit in that fight, I just walked backwards around the room and pew pew'd him. Most of the bosses in this game I've fought so far are pretty easy and/or you can do something weird to kill 'em off. The Dragon God was the only boss I died to more than once and he doesn't even really engage you.

If you're pew pewing every single thing in DeS is easy.

Well I'm not going to feel bad about using magic. I'm a magician, damnit. I'm all about the wizard life and I don't care for no strife all getting stabbed because I can't parry. edit: Except for when I run out of mana which is all of the time.

Is there a hat that is better than Garl Vinland's Squid Helm? I'm hoping not because this thing is boss.

I prefer wizards in most of my games like this (except when they make wizards really lovely and inferior... Bethedsa) but Demons is meant to melee. Sheep-Goats posted:Custard tornado son I'm not even committed to this build yet. I still melee fairly often, and none of my stats are above 18, I think my strength is higher than my magic skills actually. I played Dark Souls first as a Dex, then a big fuckoff strength dude. I figured I'd try magic in Demons. I was hoping to get the sword that needs all 18 in the attacking stats, since I never got the type of sword that does that in Dark. I hate putting stats into faith since I've never used those spells in either game and it's a pain to equip another magic trinket when I already have a wand, shield, sword, bow equipped.

Miracles are OP as gently caress in Demon's (mainly due to Second Chance) and there's a talisman called the Talisman of Beasts that you can cast both sorceries and miracles from

It is hilariously fun to play golf with Doran using the Storm Ruler.

It happened to me once, but only because I was overconfident and a bit unlucky. I figured I could just charge straight at him, hit him a couple of times, and be done with it, seeing as that's how the fight normally goes, but I ended up running straight into two of his magic beam things and died instantly because I had like 8 VIT.

I haven't beaten the game yet, and the Fool's Idol was the last boss I beat and I died at it once too. Mostly because I'm going into this completely blind and didn't pay a lot of attention to where it's traps were, so I got stuck in one and got hit a few times and died. As far as difficulty goes, Fool's Idol is definitely harder than Pinwheel.

With all these new players will I finally get to invade at SL120? Otherwise I've kind of exhausted everything I want to do with this game.

Remember the Fight Club announcement I made a while back, well I'm banking in on that. Fight Club will be in world 4-1, this Sunday, at 1 PM EST. Your task if you choose to accept is to: Get a character to Soul Level 120ish, but not over due to how invading works in Demon's Souls. Find your self a Red Soul Stone and acquire a Blue Soul Stone. Both of which are easy to do, you can try to just use the Black Soul Stone too but that might not work as well. Make a fun build or competitive build, I don't care I just want some footage. Enter world 4-1. Place down your Red Sign or your Blue Sign. I will summon you and you will get to fight your Red and/or Blue opponent. NOW because we are using Red Soul Signs do know you will be getting leveled down, please feel free to use the item dupe glitch to get yourself unlimited souls, because you might be losing levels. That is all and I hope to see you guys on Sunday. EDIT: Oh ya I would like to avoid Grass use, to keep the fights under 20 minutes long. Remember to have some spare Use Soul Items to get your SL back up if you lose to a Red Phantom. NO GRASS, Seriously I want some legit PvP. Also remember NA servers. SL 120 We need some red phantoms though i got 2 blues already. TheWanderingNewbie fucked around with this message at May 12, 2013 around 17:06 |

Anyone fighting we need some more Red souls signs, we only got one red guy right now. EDIT: It was a great fight club, we didn't get many Red Phantoms but plenty of Blue and a number of good fights, should be able to make a good 30 minute video out of the footage.
