Title: Fur and Loathing in Las Vegas (or How I Learned To Love Getting Bombed)

I'm over a year late on this, but I want to thank Kage and the rest of the gang for throwing an excellent shindig back in 2006.

It was my first furry convention, and it couldn't have happened under circumstances more fun; myself and a friend of mine didn't actually decide to go until Wednesday the 14th. The evening of the 15th, the friend of mine and one of his friends and I piled into my PT Cruiser, stopped at Wal-Mart to get tea shades, hats, Acapulco shirts, and a tape player, then drove 14 hours through the night to get to Anthrocon '06. No idea where we'd be staying, what we'd be eating, just that we were going to Anthrocon.

It was a blast.

Thank you, Sam Conway and crew, for, providing the highlight of 2006 for me. I plan to do the same next year!

I make no secrets about the fact that my line of work lies in video games. In fact, I was a programmer on the Wii version of a little number that you may have heard of called "Guitar Hero: World Tour".

When I stop to think about it, the fact really weighs upon my mind that here I am, having a hand in creating a game series that is rarely not found at a furry gathering of more than ten people or so, and not a soul knows who I am. I spend months of my life, working plentiful overtime, poring over arcane lines of code, subjecting myself to exhaustion for the purposes of creating something that furries and other people will enjoy for weeks or months after it comes out. Still, nobody knows who I am.

I have no fans, I have no people to dote on me, to invite me to fun parties except when invited by my other friends who do. Why? Because my income doesn't come from inked-and-colored dog dicks, that's why. It is a tragedy of the commons that the furries who make things that give other furs weeks or months of pleasure are forgotten about by the masses, who choose instead to fawn on the people who draw something that they'll toss off to once or twice and then forget about.

Why am I writing this journal? I don't know. I guess I just felt it needed to be said.
