Despite being a troll thread (1'd), I feel the need to make a serious post.

This system alone has enough resources to sustain a population of trillions of human beings with a standard of living that puts the current US to shame. In the long run, no matter how 'sustainable' our consumption on Earth becomes, we will inevitably run out of certain resources (100% efficiency is a game you cannot ever win).

At that point humanity has two options:
1. Expand into the rest of the solar system.*
2. Die.**

* gently caress your 'habitable planets' nonsense. Artificial Lagrange and orbital habitats are where the real potential is at.
**Granted this will happen eventually, but I imagine most of us would prefer that happen in millions/billions of years from now rather than a few centuries.
