I don't see any reason to , the only downside is that it's maybe more prone to sunburn. Unless you were hoping it's a breed and there were more about.

Both, really. It's good that the cat's not too adversed affected, but it's still a disease. And it *is* a very striking looking cat, so it would be cool if you could actually get a breed that looks like that.

There's a disease-free salt-and-pepper cat on the Messybeast page, too -- a tortie with a gene mutation that prevents the creation of red pigment, so the orange fur patches are white instead. That's potentially breedable, although the cat in question was spayed and presumably nobody's taken an interest in finding another.

So it's storming over here, and it turns out my cat, Crackers, decided to hide under my car while it was going on. When she came in, she was soaking wet and so I wrapped her in a towel. She is very comfortable now.
