HOLY poo poo what a day. I'm simply beside myself for a Kris vs. Adam finale. My family and I had dinner at the same restaurant as Kris' and we kept running into them and showing each other how we were voting for the other family's kid. It was adorable. His family are all really sweet people and I'm not at all pissed if he ends up winning the whole thing. That said, vote for Adam ![]() I don't think I'm gonna do the whole GBS thing now. I was determined to not have Adam lose to Gokey, but I don't mind if Kris wins simply because he was such an underdog and so obviously talented. I just wish the finale could have been a 3-way competition between Kris, Allison, and Adam.

Adam will be fine no matter what. He's got a lot of people knocking on his door. Besides the shame of having someone as lame as Gokey beating him, it might even be better for him to get 2nd. Like I said, no matter what happens, i'm happy with the outcome.

godamnit. I can't wait for him to get a record together.

He's said before that he wants to do a little bit of everything and I firmly believe that's true. Adam likes playing the Chameleon. He'll have a classic rock overall vibe, but he'll have some pop, soul, ballad songs too. He really admires Madonna for the way she always reinvents herself and it seems like he wants to follow that trend and never really get nailed down to one genre. He'll probably stay away from country though

I just downloaded this tuesdays episode because I like looking at myself on tv (no, but I am compiling a dvd of all the episodes for my mom), and I rewatched Adam's live version of crying. Did someone pay off his backup singer to completely sabotage his performance? Seriously, go back and listen. She's singing out of sync with him AND hitting bad notes. What the hell?

What pisses me off is that people think he's not talking about it because he's scared of what'll happen. Look at the loving TV and tell me he's scared of weirding people out. Yeah right. The truth is, American Idol shouldn't be about the contestants' silly personal stories. Had Danny Gokey not gone the Pity Party route, he would've been out sooner because he's just not that exciting of a singer. I don't want to see Adam on-screen whimpering about how hard it is to be a gay man in America because it doesn't have to do with his singing. Adam didn't want to fuse a sob story into his Idol persona. He wants to sing and entertain, not make people vote for him out of sympathy.

Sour grapes is right. "Top 36 contestants aren't fans of Adam Lambert" yet I see a conversation between 2 people via twitter and I'm pretty sure only one of them was Top 36. And he sucked. Edit: oh, 3 people. Assuming they're all Top 36... "8.3% of the Top 36 aren't necessarily fans of Adam!" should be the headline. Suck a dick, VFTW.

well, that's the thing: if either of us could be described as an rear end in a top hat it would assuredly be me. By a huge margin. I think VFTW is willingly bending the intent of those comments to mean they don't like Adam personally where it seems they're commenting that they don't like his style of singing. I can't stand browsing their forums. It's like a giant circle jerk for all the kids who hate poo poo just because the majority likes it. They're the kids that were into Hot Topic until everyone else was into it. Then, even though the same clothes were being sold, they emphatically rejected it. I'd love to throw a rock at Sarver, though. He's a dick. Gokey seemed like he was just joking... I'll quote Sarver on this endlessly: Michael Sarver posted:Where I'm from, you're either in the closet or you're dead. negativeneil fucked around with this message at May 19, 2009 around 10:05 |

I could care less about them, true, but what makes me angry is the inevitable posting of "VFTW Victory!!!" everywhere with that loving rage-inducing smiley they use upon Adam losing the competition (which is a very real possibility). The millions of Gokey fans who vote en masse for Kris should claim the victory, not a handful of bitchy queens who use words like "fug" in serious conversation. With Sarver, well.... Mom and Dad always taught us that it isn't what you say but how you say it. That's how I got so sardonic. So if what he said offended Adam, it probably had some teeth to it. Do I think he hates gays? No. Do I think he's an ignorant shithead with no concept of diversity and how to interact with people that don't match the narrow archetype of everyone you grew up with? Yes.

which is sad, too, because the idea of trolling AI with a voting bloc big enough to matter is awesome. It's just that they aren't big enough to matter because so many people must be ashamed to associate with them.

Alright, I'll stop derailing about Sarver now and just say this. He's not at fault for being ignorant if he's never stepped outside his comfort zone. But if I were in a similar situation in which I found myself in his neck of the woods, my first inclination wouldn't be to tell the people around town that where I'm from we all think they're inbred hicks. Just sayin'. As was said elsewhere, I decided against the GBS thread because it wasn't Danny vs. Adam. I like Kris. I wish him luck and I'll just let the chips fall where they may. Here's something (potentially) juicy. I don't know how it's worked in past seasons but on Wednesday each of them are going to have a guest artist to perform with. Adam's is going to be crazy, but I don't know who Kris' will be.

Ok, so I totally went back on my word and made a post in GBS. I was talking to Adam earlier and he reconfirmed that he really does want this. So, I'm giving as much support as I can. If any of you can chime in on the thread in GBS and supply some good youtubes and reasons they should vote Adam, please help out. I put up the Ring of Fire and Star-Spangled Banner ones as evidence, but I'm sure you guys are better equipped. I gotta eat dinner and start voting! Katie Holmes showed up with Suri for one song, Adam's Change is Gonna Come, and then left. WTF.

Being on a stage in front of 30 million viewers and displaying any sign of humility or graciousness while just having finished up an amazing run of near half a year in which 100,000+ people turned into 2 constitutes some sort of inside-joke, sarcastic SA "rage against the machine" movement. I completely agree with that comparison. I didn't ever post anything like that on TVIV because, frankly, the GBS post wasn't sincere. I just wanted to think of a way to get the GBS guys who would normally poo poo on this kind of thing to get onboard. That was the best I could think of. Is he actually trolling Idol? gently caress no. He's being himself and it's awesome. I guess you can consider that a troll in that it still makes some more socially conservative people uncomfortable, but Adam isn't concerned with them. He just wants to put on a good show, and this is what he thinks a good show looks like. Don't get mad, your initial face-value interpretation is correct. I'm just cynically playing both sides. Ends justify the means, and what not. edit: reading that VFTW mission statement is hilarious. They really are petulant children. There's no way they can actually think middle America would be more upset with Kris than Adam. They should just change it to "we reject whoever is the frontrunner. No matter what." negativeneil fucked around with this message at May 20, 2009 around 22:46 |

I got a bit sour grapes too, and had to keep reminding myself that this outcome is the best possible outcome. It was only a selfish pride thing that I wanted to see Adam win, but truthfully Kris needed the win and Adam didn't. loving SLASH wants to work with him. Queen? Tons of producers. He'll be fine. I'd be happy to give you guys updates but I don't know how I'd do that. I guess post in TVIV even though it's not strictly regarding a TV show? If this thread stays open I could post here too. The nerves finally hit me at the big reveal, but I wasn't surprised. I mean, dialidol had informed me of their fate the night before. My mom I was worried about, but she was ok too. The thing is, seeing the utter joy and complete shock from the Allens was really nice. After the show they were hugging and kissing their family and friends and it was simply wonderful. I'm very happy for them. Kris' brother's a good guy and we both occupied that my-brother-is-on-idol space so it was nice to watch him finish that journey. Kris' father's name is Neil as well, so I have a special affection for him too. And hell, Kris is talented. Like I've always said, the only thing that would have sent me flying into a rage would have been a Gokey victory. Plus, who loving cares who won? My brother just sang on stage with QUEEN AND KISS HOLY loving poo poo. I don't think he could have been happier. The entire show, actually, was pretty damned entertaining. The afterparty was good too. I'll have you all know that Megan and I did have a nice conversation ![]() I have plenty to say on this topic, but I'll say this: gently caress American Idol. The production staff are all very nice people, the contestants for the most part are cool. The only thing I hate is the audience. Not those of us that sit around and simply talk/make fun. I'm talking about the incessantly screaming tweens. JESUS CHRIST. I had to sit on the set of American Idol Extra to watch Adam's exit interview and I couldn't handle it. I actually left and went around the corner to have a drink with Adam's/Allison's hair stylist and a former Idol contestant, much to Mom's chagrin. I mean really, what the gently caress kids? STOP SCREAMING THEIR NAMES. Perhaps I've never been a 12 year old girl (perhaps), but I just don't understand the idea of screaming someone's name in a vain effort to get their attention instead of actually listening to what they're saying or paying attention to the show. Great, you're having fun. But it's at everyone's expense. These are the people that fuel idol for the most part and for that reason I'm glad Adam didn't win. Perhaps I sound really arrogant here but I think he's bigger than this show. I want him to do bigger things than this. I want him to get an awesome producer and a few band members who can tear poo poo up. So there's my rant. Favorite WTF? moment: for 2 hours of the taping of Idol Extra, Christian Bale sat on the side of the set just shooting the poo poo with some guy. It was bizarre. He wasn't there for the show, he was just... there. Maybe his kid was one of those shrieking idiots, but I can't imagine the child of a movie star being that way. So... what gives Christian?

I haven't talked to Adam about the Queen stuff, but I've got to wonder if that'd be a good idea. It would be cool as all hell, but maybe touring with Queen is something he does after releasing an album and upping his profile a bit. I dunno...

I just came on to post about that actually. I'm annoyed. I know SA is big and all and I should have known better, but I think I have an inherent trust in the whole 'goons' thing to think people wouldn't spread it around. That was naive, and I got carried away on some parts and it was stupid to say considering. I'm most annoyed that they posted the comments with the word filter so I sound like a moron, but oh well. It's frustrating that the quotes are being cherry picked (with the exception of the Sarver stuff. Whatever, he's the one who said it. He should have to stand by it). I think it's pretty obvious that I really like Kris, so all these people thinking I'm insulting him by saying he needed the win more are silly. It's true: if Kris was runner up he'd have a lot harder time getting publicity and he deserves to do well. I don't understand how that makes me an rear end in a top hat. What makes me an rear end in a top hat is talking about this publicly when ultimately my opinion isn't warranted. The comments on ONTD which discussed me overstepping my bounds feel accurate in light of all of these comments being made public. So I think I'm done. I'll be around and available for PMs, but I won't be posting about American Idol stuff anymore. Adam stuff in the future, sure, but not AI. That said, I enjoyed watching the season with all of you. It was fun! negativeneil fucked around with this message at May 27, 2009 around 01:44 |

the fawning actually doesn't get to me in real life, and I just ignore the comments for the most part. Sometimes they're funny to read. The youtube clip of me was fairly creepy as well as all the people taking pictures of us. It's stupid, but that's what happens when you make family a part of the show which we definitely were willing participants in.

The New York Post ran a full-page story about the album's pre-sale stats. I saw it in the guy's paper who was sitting next to me on the train. Holy poo poo! I hadn't heard about this yet. He was clearly interested in the sports stories in the front of the paper and I asked him if I could borrow the page. Dude was PISSED. "How about you let me enjoy my loving paper?" I tried to explain that I was interested because the person was a family member and he told me, "that's great. I don't care." It was actually kinda awesome.
