Exactly which drivers should I be using on a technically unsupported card like my x1800xt? I'm on 7201 x86 and I've tried drat near every driver version in between 8 and 9 (uninstalling using the ati utility in between) and not a single one of them will either a)load ccc b)scale my games properly this isn't an issue with some games that I can actually run at proper resolutions, but newer games I certainly can't do that... all of the solutions I can find on google presuppose that CCC is actually working.

KB974431 was the offending update. "update for windows 7 for x64-based systems" ah well, I had to restart anyway because windows decided to make my system volume icon vanish and be perma-disabled. (fixed now)

anyone have any problems with win7 and drive imaging yet? my current boot drive is an old seagate 80g ide drive, so i imaged it over to a 160g sata drive I got for free. booting from it, windows pitched an absolute fit. blank desktop, no explorer.exe even running, and the "this copy is not genuine" logo in the bottom right. I'm going to try using windows backup to restore it this time.

Yeah he shouldn't partition the 64GB SSD, but I sure as hell would partition a 1TB drive into OS and DATA partitions. like rolleyes said, that practice is pretty obsolete since vista unless you want to argue about short stroking. if you have to flatten the OS for any reason, just do a custom install and everything gets moved to your *.old folder. its always easier to just have a dedicated drive, even if not a raptor/black/whatever
