Quick question: I've got an Echo1 M8A3 (just a plain M4 clone) with a 14mm adapter at the end of the barrel, where the RIS ends. I don't really like the look of just removing the barrel and adding a suppressor onto the end. What are my options? Is it possible to find a birdcage adapter for a suppressor or do I have to get a different barrel extension? On a side note - I got a Condor/OETech plate carrier in the mail on Tuesday and it's awesome. Really sturdy build quality. Now I need to buy a bunch of mag pouches for it.

You can just get a QD suppressor if you have an M16/M4 style flash hider on it. It clamps into the round grooves on the back of the flash hider. The downside is you need to ave some space between the ris and the flash hider because it sits 2-3in back from the front of the barrel.

I'm thinking about getting into airsofting, a friend invited me to join his group that does it and I need to buy a gun. I also have a huge hardon for AK47s. Does anyone know of a good AK47 replica for someone new to the sport?

If you start getting into airsoft more you're gonna wish you bought something better than the CYMA. Buy cheap, buy twice

From what I'm beginning to gather, the supposed quality of chinese guns depends entirely on how the underpaid chinese slave who happens to be working on your gun, feels that day. Having owned three JGs, I can attest to this. CYMA do the best clone M14s from what I've heard and a range of pretty impressive AKs. I'd consider one of these myself. http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_in...roducts_id=4738

I'd recommend a version of that gun with the folding stock or full stock as a great starter platform AK as well. Pretty Little Rainbow fucked around with this message at Mar 9, 2010 around 07:38 |

I snagged a Cybergun wood and metal AK out of the Kapowwe boneyard, gave it a little TLC, ran a Deans connector up to the receiver cover, and used some GooGone to remove the Kalashnikov logo poo poo. End result is a rather stunning and rock solid brand new gun for about 100 bucks. It definitely needed a little love and some tightening of the screws but the basic gun is quite, quite impressive. Also, PLR, the Skorpion rail is held on with a little bolt that screws into the front underside of the gun, to resurrect a long dead question.

what is the best way to oil a gun? i have my 100% silicon lube i know that much. should i just put a drop or two in the barrel and the feed from the clip and let it sit for awhile. or should i do the above and then fire some bb's. this gun, my KWA Mk36c is my first expensive AEG and i want it to last

Balphazar posted:what is the best way to oil a gun? i have my 100% silicon lube i know that much. Shoot a quick spray up through the mag well into the feed nozzle. Also, put a little into your mags, then run a about 100 rounds through the gun or until the bb's stop flying erratically. Thats about all you can do without getting into the gearbox. If you know how, i'd recommend taking the barrel/hopup unit apart and running a patch to clean the barrel out, but that won't hurt anything.

Thanks, I figured as much after reading a review. Theres no place to put a screw in that part of the gun in reality without modifying my lower receiver so I'm going to have to come up with another design.

Has anyone had problems with striping the pinion gear out of systema motors? It was on so tight that I had to grind it off, I may have killed the shaft in the process.

They red loctite the everloving poo poo out of the set screw, so you've gotta burn it out or soften it up before you can even put the hex key in there. You can probably still make it work, though.

I need to sell a delicious ICS Galil ARM for $310: http://forums.somethingawful.com/sh...hreadid=3279770 It has some mechbox issues; the motor spins but it doesn't actually fire. Hence the low price. It's awaiting repair in the queue at my local shop so if you want, it can be yours for $310 + cost of repairs, or you can snag it at the bargain price if you want to take a look at it yourself. Help me afford tuition!

Just in case anyone has any interest before I put this on eBay, I'm selling all of my gear. It's pretty much impossible to own this crap in NYC since just driving with it is a big deal, so it has to go. All this stuff is in excellent condition, literally never taken to a game. Question: I used to play airsoft, and I'm now starting to get into small game hunting and a lot of air rifles have caught my eye. However, I can totally see myself hooking up with old friends to play some airsoft again. Are there any BB or air guns that fire both .177" bb/pellet rounds and .12/.20g plastic airsoft rounds? Probably not
