So apparently ya boy right here Chad Ruhlig has been back in For the Fallen Dreams for a while now and his presence has caused them to stop being lovely and go back to sounding good (i.e. how they sounded when he was in the band originally). Check it out,,, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f02Boh_vsCo I would rather have a new Legend tape and I hope this doesn't mean that band is on the back burner now, but this tape is sitll pretty boss.

Emerald Blue is easily the best track on the new For The Fallen Dreams joint. Still a fun record, Chad Ruhlig's vocals rule and I like how FTFD is now basically Legend with some melodies. Can't wait for the DL-ified Legend however. That is going to simply crush.

New FTFD has grown on me a ton and it's making me think of if Bury Your Dead hadn't become simply awful after Cover Your Tracks. "Emerald Blue" "Choke" "Bombay" and "Mimic" are all full out bangers.

On the flipside, I just realized that Waking the Cadaver have an album that came out last year. I know they're not "good" but it's just so ignorantly slam-heavy that I can't help but love it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZJjq7pTt2gA

I will check out the Whitechapel record but I expect it to suck. They were better when they were honest about being a chuggy deathcore band with no riffs. Lately they're trying to be Lamb of God.

Seems like they've lost the "groove" part of their sound, so now they're just slow and boring instead of slow and cool like on their last album (which was good).

Happy that they're making music again, especially since I discovered them so late (they were pretty much on hiatus by that time). Cool that they got their original singer back, though I don't think the guy that was on Lividity was bad.

As someone who was listening to them when they only had a three song demo, I never listened to anything after Caitiff Choir. For me this is like they're picking up right where they left off.

Pretty excited that they're back and I hope to see them perform live again sometime soon. But nothing will surpass the sweet rear end basement show I saw them play with God Forbid in Fresno so, so many years ago. -Atom- fucked around with this message at 02:08 on Apr 30, 2014 |

The second singer was decent live, as you mentioned, I just remember never being able to get into anything they put out after CC XIII posted:Welp, I just learned I like It Dies Today. Check out their debut full length album Caitiff Choir. At the time it came out I was already listening to them for about two years or so and at first I was kind of upset that it was so melodic compared to their EP Forever Scorned (which you should also check out) but as time went on, and especially now all these years later, it really is a great loving album.

I seen these motherfuckers in CBGB with The Acacia Strain and that venue was far too small to be safe for those bands. Good times.

I might have shows mixed up then. I've definitely seen The Acacia Strain a number of times at CBGB's. I remember seeing It Dies Today there the weekend before they played Hellfest '04 in Jersey. I don't think I've seen Anterrabae outside of The Downtown in Long Island. Speaking of which, are you going to that reunion show? e: I've always hated Trivium. Just needed to point that out.

I didn't even know that was a thing. I've been to the Downtown a few times though, from memory it was something like: God Forbid + Shadows Fall (owned), All That Remains (they owned when I saw them since it was around or just before Fall of Ideals), and AILD + Throwdown which was just ok really. I think I'm on a live Shadows Fall DVD shot at that show in some capacity.
