Well she somehow won a golden globe for AHS. Even as a fan of both Gaga and the show I don't think her performance was THAT good. Maybe if it was an award for best rear end on a TV show.

I tried to watch that show and it seems like they come up with cool scenes but not really how to connect them. Gaga was pretty good in it from what I saw.

Yeah, that's pretty much an apt description of the show. Recent seasons have definitely felt like they're winging it from episode to episode. The first two seasons are really good though.

It had good moments and bad moments, Kirsten Dunst probably should have won but whatever, awards are really just a matter of opinion. I think the show proves Gaga can act with the right material, she has some GREAT scenes (mainly the flashback stuff) but it was a bit inconsistent at times for sure. She was in the top 5 this season, my list would probably be 1. evan peters (hands down the best) 2. denis o' hare 3. sarah paulson 4. gaga 5. kathy bates

She will probably be an EGOT winner at some point in her life.

It's gotta be a medley of some sort, right?

abraham linksys

I would expect a medley of safe hits with bland pop production (maybe with a string section or something). Nile Rodgers producing makes me think it has a chance of having some pep, though. I bet Gaga would do a fantastic version of Life On Mars given the chance. Not expecting a lot from this but I think she'll be able to pull it off just fine.

I have no idea what you're talking about with this. Now if you'll excuse me I have to go listen to her song The Fame while looking at this photo of her.

For real though, the amount of social media comments I've seen accusing her of "cashing in" on Bowies death somehow have been staggering due to the fact that since day loving 1 her entire thing has been cribbing off of him.

I dunno if I'd say her ENTIRE thing but it's definitely a giant influence on her style.

She's always been a chameleon, it's fascinating to watch. To me she is a mashup of Bowie, Elton John and Madonna.

But lately a lot less Madonna, there's absolutely zero chance in hell Madonna could have done a sound of music tribute and nailed it.

I'm glad she's kind of doing her own thing lately, can't wait to see what the future holds.

So I've been tossing this around in my head for a couple days now and I really can't decide what I think they're gonna play. I agree that she would totally slay 'Life on Mars?' and I'm not 100% sure that won't make it in, but I'm not holding my breath.

Most of his really famous songs (at least the one's that got well known in the US) I'm not sure would sound right from anyone but Bowie, and most of his songs that I think Gaga would perform really well aren't well known enough to make it into a big award show like the Grammy's

I really want to hear her do 'Starman' and 'Heroes' and and... I really want them to just cancel the whole show and it can just be 2 hours of Bowie instead.

Real talk though, I think a cool way to kick it off would a shortened version of Blackstar where it starts with the studio vocals and then Gaga fades in partway through the track.

:darksouls:
I think she'd do a great version of Life On Mars but a bad version of Heroes (because every cover of Heroes is terrible)

I'd expect some combination of:

Space Oddity
Let's Dance (this one is really easy to hear in your head)
Life On Mars
Rebel Rebel
Fame
Ziggy Stardust

Vince MechMahon
Jan 1, 2008

If she doesn't do Let's Dance and Fame I'd be shocked. Then again those are the two obvious choices so maybe they'll specifically avoid them. Life on Mars would be killer. I think she could do a pretty ripping version of Changes.

Its intense intense horse poo poo.

Heroes was kind of bad but Heroes has literally never had a good cover. Artists as amazing as TV On the Radio and Janelle Monae have tried and failed so I wasn't expecting much

I'm partial to the Magnetic Fields version if you have to pick a cover, but I'd agree that nobody's topped Bowie outright:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PQIBTDwNapw

The acoustic version from 1996 by Bowie himself is a pretty nice alternate version though:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pBiiFplMWls

e: The Peter Gabriel cover is also pretty okay, but still not good enough that you ever stop thinking "you know, I could just listen to the Bowie version" on some level.

Vince MechMahon

The recent Amanda Palmer cover of Heroes is pretty good.

That had some cool visuals, but it either should have been twice as long or had half as many songs.
