I'm sure they thought about high-fiving a vet once so they're rabid supporters of the soldiers who would not doubt do anything for a soldier.

Oblammo only thinks about denying vets their well-deserved high fives my cousing Jimbob said so and why would he lie? I believe him.

http://www.americasfreedomfighters.com/2014/11/26/the-truth-about-thanksgiving-liberals-will-hate-this/

quote:

THE TRUTH ABOUT THANKSGIVING- LIBERALS WILL HATE THIS!

Dean James AMERICAS FREEDOM FIGHTERS-

Look, I acknowledge that ‘Native Americans’ have been in North America for a long time. However, white people have been here longer and really, does that matter? Look at what the white people have done to build our county compared to the ‘natives.’ That being said, let it be known that CHRISTIANS saved this country as well as BUILT this country!

This from Ben Shapiro as he takes a look at the true story of Thanksgiving – not the multiculturalism and socialism pushed by leftists every November.

TRANSCRIPT:

THE REAL STORY OF THANKSGIVING –

Thanksgiving is almost upon us, and once again we’ll be treated to the usual dumbed down version of the Thanksgiving story: white Europeans landed in America fleeing religious persecution, were too dumb to farm, and relied on the wise Native Americans to help them. Then they had a meal together and learned to share, after which the white Europeans genocided the Native Americans. Let’s watch some football!

The whole story is much more interesting. And it’s also not particularly friendly to leftists.

The Puritans who came to Massachusetts on the Mayflower weren’t emissaries of religious tolerance. They actually left liberal Holland to push for “the glory of God and advancement of the Christian Faith,” as it says right in the Mayflower compact. Turns out that Christianity was more important than multiculturalism to the heroes of Plymouth Rock.

And Christianity, not multiculturalism, saved the Puritans. The first winter, half the new settlers died. That was because of drought and plague, and failure to understand the crops. Then Squanto showed up.

Squanto wasn’t just a Native American refugee from the Disney movie Pocahontas. He was a Christian. Apparently, Squanto was just a boy when he met the English for the first time – he was captured and sent back to England for training as a guide. In 1614, he returned to America with John Smith – but he was then kidnapped again by one of Smith’s men, sent back to Spain, and sold into slavery.

Spanish monks bought him and taught him Christianity. He somehow ended up in England, and earned the respect of an Englishman who paid for his passage back to the New World. In 1619, Squanto went home.
But by the time he got back, his entire village had been killed by disease.

One year later, the Pilgrims showed up, settling in Squanto’s devastated village. Governor William Bradford wrote that Squanto “became a special instrument sent of God for [our] good…[he] never left us till he died.”
It was Christian Squanto, not “native Americans” generally, who taught the Pilgrims how to farm.

With Squanto’s help, the Pilgrims survived to celebrate the first Thanksgiving in 1621. When he died one year later, he asked Bradford to pray for him so that he could “go to the Englishmen’s God in heaven.”
But that wasn’t the end of the story, either.

The Pilgrims had set up a massive obstacle for themselves: their idea of a religious utopia was a giant commune. And like all communist organizations, it failed spectacularly.

Governor William Bradford wrote: “The failure of that experiment of communal service, which was tried for several years, and by good and honest men, proves the emptiness of the theory of Plato and other ancients, applauded by some of later times – that the taking away of private property, and the possession of it in community, by a commonwealth, would make a state happy and flourishing; as if they were wiser than God…community of property was found to breed much confusion and discontent, and retard much employment which would have been to the general benefit.”

Both men and women refused to work. Stealing became rampant.

So, what did the Puritans do? Bradford described it: in 1623, after the first Thanksgiving, they trashed the system: “The Governor, with the advice of the chief among them, allowed each man to plant corn for his own household…So every family was assigned a parcel of land. This was very successful.”

So successful that more than a century and a half later, George Washington explained the legacy of religious purity in his first Thanksgiving proclamation: “it is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for His benefits, and humbly to implore His protection and favor.” And it is with thanks to God and his principles and the pursuit of his purity that we celebrate this Thanksgiving.

Correction: The Puritans and Pilgrims were distinct groups; all references to the Puritans should be to the Pilgrims, although technically, many Pilgrims were members of a sect of Puritanism…

THIS ARTICLE ORIGINALLY APPEARED AT OUR FRIENDS FROM BEN SHAPIRO’S TRUTH REVOLT!

tl:dr White people built this country, Native Americans didn't do poo poo, because Squanto was a Christian. The Puritans failed because they were trying to be a commie commune. Happy Thanksgiving!

One thing that's always baffled me about conservatives I've met is that they incessantly scream about how the homeless choose to be homeless and destitute by being lazy. Then you point out a poo poo load of them are, you know, vets with legitimate mental health issues and you can tell their internal narrative has screeched to a halt. On one hand we must gently caress the poor as hard as we can. On the other hand many of them are vets and we should not be loving vets as hard as we can.

But yeah that's another one; "OK so let's fund the VA better!" and the response is "no more taxes, ever, at all in fact let's cut taxes again." Because everything went so well last time we did.

I love when this one pops up because it truly shows how little these people know about social programs. Not only do these straw people sound pretty responsible by using social programs to their advantage which they are set up for, but to get any money from welfare as well as food stamps you have to have a job. To get grants from school you have to attend and pass classes. Also them saying hey make sure that if you're pregnant that we make sure we can get a few things that will help up take care of the child is like the most responsible thing you can do. They sound like pretty decent people.

I don't know, how about asking the senators and representatives that voted down the funding for it?

It's pretty obvious which side of the aisle they're on, and it sure as poo poo isn't the side that came up with those programs in the first place. You got shitbags like Tom Coburn out there that do there best to gently caress over the social programs designed to help seniors, vets, and the homeless.

A lot of it just willful ignorance/actual ignorance. You see things like the belief that if taxes are lowered than people give more money to charity so obviously cutting taxes is how you take care of the unfortunate/old. There is also the very common view that the government is completely, totally, 100% incapable of actually doing anything right ever so you don't lose anything by cutting those programs anyway. The belief is that churches are better at charity than the government so cut taxes and let churches and the wealthy have more money so they can help people because they're better at it.

The racism angle plays into it too; they think of black people when they think of the homeless so gently caress the homeless. The assumption is that every homeless person is a lazy black man who refuses to work so he can smoke crack literally all day every day. It also often plays into the whole "nuclear family = best family" ideal. Once again the argument is that it isn't the government's job to do these things and that those programs actually hurt people by tearing apart black families. Once again the nuclear family ideal of the 1950's would lead people to form actual family units, stick together, and take care of each other.

It's all pining for a fantasy version of America that never existed while using that longing to gently caress over everybody that isn't rich. It's all a narrative carefully created to funnel more money into the pockets of the obscenely rich.

It really shows that selfishness in the mindset. It's all about the other taking away their stuff, no real regard to how that stuff will then be utilized.
The taken food would have to be given to some homeless people or something for this demonstration to work at least a little as intended. By having the person just have it all to themselves they really represent the super-rich more than anything.

Yes. It happens everywhere. There's always that family member that lacks any sense of tact who thinks they're bringing intelligent conversation to the party by referencing a dumb political topic in a hyper-partisan way. Some people are so wrapped up in politics that they lose all sense of perspective. You can't mention anything to them without them having something partisan to say in response.

These people honestly believe they're fantastic conversationalists and the rest of the world just can't handle their political realness. So we're all sheep for wanting to make it through a family dinner without hearing about how Bill Clinton is a rapist.
