I'm not really a street photography kind of guy but I think these few photos are my attempts to shoot some street photography.

Stopped at a truck stop in Italy, Texas to get some drinks and Elvis here was belting out tunes. Grabbed a shot of him on my way out.
Hahaha awesome! So that's where Elvis went off to.

Shot on Superia 200 film that I forgot to develop until a year later. Only converting it to b&w saved it marginally

Yeah there's Provia 100F and 400X. You should try both of them out.

I tried Provia 100F and hated it, but I'll try anything twice. ISO 400 is a really nice medium format sweet spot for me. It means I can leave the tripod in the car.

Conversely I've just tried out 100F and quite like the results from it. But yeah ISO 400 is good for medium format cos we can use higher shutter speeds in lower light conditions so it's more versatile in that sense.

Pretty brave to put a painting on the floor like that... not to mention expensive.

Well to be fair, it was more of an art installation. There were quite a few other similar installations on the floor too, in other galleries.

I really like that one of the kids on the penny machines man, the light is gorgeous.

What length lens do people use for their shots generally? I'm considering getting a nice 50mm with better optical quality than my kit 18-55, would that be too long still?

Nothing is too long or short, as long as you get the shot you want. Buuuut traditionally street photography was done with either a 35 or 50mm lens (on full-frame).

Street photography is like the horrible bastard child of portraiture and landscape photography. I usually take it to be any photo taken while standing on a street/road/etc.
