It really is a shame how many people have slept on this show for over a decade. When the surface is penetrated it's extremely relatable and sympathetic to all kinds of demographics, and as many people observe, just try and name a single "bad" episode of KOTH. You can't because it's always kept a consistent quality to the degree of no other animated show for as long. The writing has stayed no less sharp than, say, "The Office" (moreso in my book). It's simply stifled by the medium gap it's caught within.

I was really surprised that Brittney Murphy was always Luanne. Even when she made a lot of terrible movies and Sin City.

I have a message from Jesus, something about how you suck at beauty school, except worded nicer. Here it is: "Luanne, you really suck at beauty school. Drop out. Love, Jesus." Hm. He underlined "really." Guess it wasn't nicer.

More "King of the Hill has awesome guest voices" fodder: the skateboarding preacher is voiced by the lead singer of Sum-41, and his dad is voiced by Gene Simmons. It's the little things that make the show great.

One of my favorite Luanne moments is during the prank wars episode, when Bobby replaces her hairspray with an air horn. You hear the honk and she screams. Then you see her looking at the can in a frightened manner, and she tries it again.

Peggy started out more naive than narcissist and I was sad to see her become such an egomaniac. I can't loving stand Peggy episodes despite knowing that they all end with her getting her comeuppance.

I love Peggy. My favorite quote of hers is when Hank is telling her how appalled he is that Dale was joking about them being swingers, and she says "You get Nancy and I get Dale? Uh-uh. I think we know who the winner is there: Dale".

Though I didn't need to know Dale wore a banana hammock.

Having just watched the first two seasons, she's always been pretty full of herself. I think at least every episode has her using poor or incorrect spanish and one of the ones I just had her correct someone using proper spanish and told them they were saying something about God when they said buenas dias.

All i remember about that episode is that "Life in a northern town" was used every second because its African chant part sounds somewhat metaphysical.

I laughed pretty hard in the end at two Bobby lines. First when Luann tells everyone that she is going to go to community college and Bobby yells "This is the happiest day of my life!" and then after that when Hank says "I didn't know there was a weeny wagon in Arlen" and Bobby looks at him indignantly and says something like "I would hope not or you would have taken me".

The rodeo episode was just on Adult Swim and that had some great quotes: "Who wants to wrestle? I now have Joseph's strength!" and "The only drug he's on is Gribble-cillan. And you told me that Gribble-cillan would have no performance enhancing effects!"

Just watched a bunch the other day and seriously, no other show comes remotely close to their use of celebrities in guest spots. Brad freaking Pitt as Patch? Goldblum as a scam artist and Jennifer Aniston as a biker slut? Genius. I've also got to believe that Judge is really well-liked or thought of in Hollywood because that show had nowhere near the name recognition as The Simpsons but they pulled in quality guests on such a consistent basis.
